Eventually, I want to do agility with Addie, and I definitely wanted to get her CGC. I found a trainer right in my town that offers training, but has no classes at a time that hubby and I can do. She wont't offer any night time classes until it starts staying brighter later. She referred me to another trainer, who also does the AKC Star Puppy program, but her price is double the other trainer here in town.

Keeping in mind that I wanted to do agility, hubby gave me the green light on this club/group.

But, before I say yes, how much would YOU spend for a 6 week AKC Star puppy program/class?

A six week class like that around here is probably $135 or so. I think that's about what I paid for Gusto's puppy class.

I probably wouldn't do any puppy class with a new puppy at this point, because I get a much better experience from seminars/lessons. But I think that $125 - $140 range is pretty acceptable for me.

It's so dependent on area. I generally spend $160-170 on a 6 week class where I live, whether it's puppy class or something more advanced.

I've been working 2 hours from home and in this area a 6 week class is about $90.

I am super spoiled in that I belong to a Kennel Club that, as a member, I only pay $25 a year and can take any and all Obedience, Rally, and Nose Work classes I want that they offer for no extra charge with any of my dogs. I can also take Agility classes for just an additional $25 per session (to pay for equipment upkeep)

So my answer would be $25

So jealous! We have kennel clubs here and the deal is not nearly that good. You still have to pay for classes, it's just 20% off or something,

Both the clubs here have membership and reduced rates. I pay $45 a year for membership and a key to the club, and $15 for each class I want to take. Conformation drop ins are free. Non member prices are.. $105 I think?

Man you guys' classes are all so...affordable!

I paid $170 for a control unleashed class and the cheapest agility class that's actually good in the area is $130. I don't think I'd go over 170-180 dollars for any class.

Suggestion - Agility Training

Last time I spent $90 on 10 sessions in my local area. So I think you should pay between $80-$100 for agility training.

Knowing what i know now, I wouldn't pay much more than $50.

I took that class and continued onto CGC with my BC as he needed the socialization. But he really didn't get much out of it and neither did I.

At our Kennel club classes run $110 for non-members. If you join and become a club member taking classes at half price is one of the perks.

Of course I often volunteer to teach a puppy class here and there or assist in classes, which entitles us to a free class :)

If you spend a lot of time taking classes and doing dog things a kennel club membership is something to think about...

Personally I probably would pay over $150 ish for 6 weeks, but they can run much more costly here depending on venue
