The downside is that now the arm I got the shot on HURTS. Huuuurts. It's been a while since I've gotten any sort of shot. Ugh.
Next time don't let them give you the shot in the arm. Ask for it in the hip/butt. I don't know about you but I have WAY more fat on my butt than my arm.
Depending on the skill of the nurse, it either doesn't hurt at all or is a little sore to sleep on that night. But "hurts" is not an accurate description for it.

I actually surprised a nurse many years ago because they were giving me a tetnus shot, and she walked in and I was like "Uh, so, is this a shot you can give me in my hip instead?" She was like "Uh... yes! Yes. But... I have to go get a different needle. I... nobody EVER asks for me to give them a shot in the butt."
And I told her my logic and she was like "You're absolutely right, but nobody ever thinks that. They all want shots in the arm."
NOPE. LESS PAIN PLEASE.

Yeah, she offered me both choices and I didn't even think about that  I've always gotten shots in my arm so that's the one I went for. Next time (if I do another 12 weeks of Depo and not an IUD like I'm thinking) I'll definitely go for the hip!

It's better today, but still sore. At least I have pretty much a full range of motion again!

Someone needs to tell me to not go 'all the pets' crazy when I move. Right now I want another chin, a cat, a third dog, and a large fish tank.

Methinks maybe 2 of those pets and not all 4. And probably not all at the same time. Dog is a definite so I need to decide- cat, chin, or fish? Leaning towards chin or fish and no cat.
I had the exact same problem when I first got out of my parent's house - just wanted to get ALL THE PETS. Except I was just moving into a house by my university and not actually a real life, functioning adult yet. So it was a bad idea and I knew it. I held back from getting another cat, and another dog, and just have two snakes (very easy, very cheap pets to keep). I might get a small pet down the road, too, but am going to try and wait because I want another dog in the near future. My personal pick for a small pet would be a hedgehog :D

I don't care for fish so I'd personally vote chinchilla or a cat. Cats aren't much work or very expensive to care for, but everything is on their terms. I like having cats in my life and will probably always want one, but I do not like how cats are lol Also, sometimes they are turds and decide to randomly puke or pee on your stuff a few times a year.

Oh, and I know Mia and Summer have all met and lived with your family's old girl, but any idea how they'd be with a cat sharing their living space 24/7?

I have no experience with chinchillas except I think they're the cutest things to exist ever. Sounds like you really enjoyed having one! Definitely a big commitment but I guess not that much more compared to a cat? It'd be a bummer if you did get one and it grows up to be an asshat, though (same for if you get a cat).

Do people actually enjoy Nicki Minaj? I just... I don't... at all...
Hah, I just listened to/watched her Anaconda video out of curiosity and yeah... no. There are other terrible pop music artists that I do listen to and enjoy, though :p

My migraine says that there will be a storm from tonight through tomorrow (really hope this is true, because then I'd stress a bit less tomorrow). Please, let there be a whole lot of storming tomorrow. Just all day long with no let up at all. Please. :)

Also, you know you've got a really bad migraine when the scent of the coconut oil (which you prepare for your dog every single morning) sets you off and makes you feel sick. Not that coconut isn't a horrid enough smell already, but like, worse than usual lol.

Haha that is what prompted that post. That video is... something else.

And I am not ashamed of my love for terrible pop/top 40 music but I do not get her appeal at all. Usually I can at least KIND OF see the appeal even if I don't like it. But not here.

Yeah the big hangup on the chin thing is the poop. Everywhere poop. And cage cleanings. I had said I didn't want cage cleanings ever again but I do miss a lot of having a chin. I think setting up a cage is neat and they're fun hyperactive things around the house. Scout was very cute and sweet and funny. I really enjoyed her personality. I know Chin care though so that's a plus.

Chins seem like more work than a cat and more expense. And cats would probably be more interactive. But they're so foreign!

I swear dogs are the easiest pets. :p

I've only ever spent time around Joy who is indoor/outdoor, ancient- almost 18, and declawed. So I've never spent any time around a cat that is actually kept the way I want to keep a cat. That's the big hangup. On the other hand I have always, always wanted a cat and almost gotten one several times. They just seem fun.

My dogs would do better with a cat than a chin. They both like cats and accept cats as friends and not prey. If I get another chin, it would have to be separate from Mia 24/7. Mia has been killing too many small animals lately and she's good at it now. Even when I had Mia and Scout she would obsess over Scout and the room Scout was in. That's another big drawback. Summer would be fine but Mia would be some work.

Get a dog-cat like Histamine! :D Seriously. I'm not a cat person, but the right cat is pretty fun.

After having several types of pets my rule now is "if it needs to SH!t in the house but can't actively use and flush a toilet the answer is no." LOL.

Out of the options you posted I would prob opt for fish first(easiest) and cat second.... But I'm a cranky person. HaHa.

Check out aquascaping fish tanks. Yesss. Fish tanks are fun because you can essentially pick up new ones all the time and get new stuff and new plants and what have you. I have a remote controlled LED light on my tank that makes the tank have lightening storms and you can change to all different colors. And it's a challenge to have everything balanced and running.

I'd rather walk a dog than scoop a litterbox or clean a cage, x1000. I won't have anymore cats after mine are gone. I love them, I just don't enjoy the care. Or the sporadic pee-in-the-sink or on the throw rug or something. I love my birds too... but one of them has been hanging on the sides of the cage to sleep, and he is shooting poo out of the cage onto the floor and walls. I'm literally wiping poo everyday. I changed their cage and he is still doing it.

Kind of biased now but I go with cat and fish :p

Honestly, it is so much easier to live with Tobi than it was to live with Nina, and I'm both a huge dog and cat person. He's gone in his litterbox since day one, and despite being a "teen," he's not disruptive, doesn't do any damage, very neat and clean, no worrying about public situations, reactivity, barking, chewing, the tons of training I had to do, or impressions on other people. Not as involved, but it's very relaxing and no-stress.

Just come home, scoop into a scented trashbag, play with him, sits in my lap, and he's actually very eager-to-please and quite responsive so he's a great cat overall, maintains his cat-ness without being like a tiny dog, and yeah.

Although, I never had the luck of the draw with dogs, so maybe I lucked out with a very well-behaved, easy-to-get-along-with pet for the first time.

Some of those tanks are AMAZING. I had looked a long while ago at some tanks from some big competition and holy crap are they stunning.

See, I could never do a fish tank. I just can't bring myself to spend that much time, money, and effort on...fish. lol I'd much rather have a pet I can handle, even if it is briefly, than deal with a fish tank. I'd rather scoop poop and clean cages than worry about water pH and cleanliness, too.

When I had sort of a collection of tanks, it was most fun to go out to various fish stores and look for particular fish. At a certain point, fish are sort of like collecting spoons or antiques :p. Hard to find nice specimens of particular species. Now I've been doing it so long, and working in the industry, I've sort of seen it all so it doesn't hold quite the mystique but it can still be fun.

I find a nice fish tank just relaxing. They're fun to watch and you can build a little ecosystem with all different species.

I had a really weird dream about Sam and Dean (Winchester). It involved soap and candles.

But not like that.

We were talking about soap and candles. I guess we were in the park, and I brought a giant bag of soap and candles and the three of us were arguing about which was the coolest/prettiest/ugliest. Dean sided with me a lot and Sam got annoyed and left after a while.

I really... I've never had such an odd dream (it was a pleasant one, though? so that's nice lol) and I wonder if this means I'm insane yet or not.

I've been in a funk for the past week, and I can't shake it. I just feel...irritated? Unsatisfied? Unhappy? From the moment I get out of bed to trying to fall asleep at night. Even when I'm doing something I would normally enjoy I still have this feeling of mild irritation. At the moment I just feel pissed off and I don't know why.

I think I need to make a list of everything that is bothering me. Maybe getting it out on paper will make it seem less significant and more manageable.

Today is one of the first days I feel all adultish. I usually am stumbling around going 'WTF. How have I managed to be in a corporate type job for 3 whole years? I am so not mature enough to be on my own.'

I did so many adult things today. All involving insurance and taxes and budgets and work and calling meetings and grocery shopping on my budget and getting the car re-licensed and organizing my files and documents.... I even looked all professional.

I'm adulted-out now. Thnks.

Going to go play pokemon and watch Buffy.
