So I've been really wanting to get Jari to use tug as a reward for agility. He does it at home halfheartedly, but is still mostly all about food. Until I was cleaning today and noticed that he REALLY wanted to play with the swiffer duster I was using. So I used it for weaves in the yard, and HOLY COW he was crazy fast and wanted to tug endlessly with the swiffer. Does anyone know of any toys that replicate the feel/look of that?

Or does anyone have any tug toys that their dogs really love? (Links appreciated!)

Random, I know, but this is what happens when I'm stuck at home sick.

If you want the (sure to be more expensive, but does have a handle) dog version:

I have one of them with a bungee tug, but Gusto thinks it is stupid. He requires all tugs to have a fleecy area to bite, a bungee handle, and a ball. This is his preferred toy right now.

Meg will only kind of tug on the food stuffable toys, like this:

See I have a couple that are rabbit/sheep and he can't seem to get a good grip on them. He will play with them in the context of my putting them on the end of a leash and using them like a flirt pole, but that's it. I also have mesh ones that you can put the food in, and he's not interested. He likes when I throw the food itself, but that's not practical in my grassy yard.

I really like the Squiggle It things and the Fringbee Ring. I will try the cheaper versions that I can maybe buy in a store, and if he likes those, I will totally order the ones with a handle.

Not sure about how he would like something with a bungee. That's also something to think about.

I do have an awesome fleecy leash that SaraB made, but he doesn't like to tug on it because he's weird. I don't think he believes that leashes are for tugging LOL.

I was surprised by how much Watson liked a tug with the bungee. I was looking for something soft and made with natural fiber/fur and ended up with a two handled bungee one with wool (basically the Ram Tuff one linked above, but two handled). He really likes the bungee! I guess it provides more interesting resistance than me just holding on. He also much prefers a two handled tug to one handle.
