My dogs go crazy for tuna fudge. They go crazy for most anything, but the fudge is easy to throw together. It pops right out of the pan and I use a pizza cutter so I have tons of treats in minutes.

I'm the Queen of NOT baking for my dogs lol but this I can do. It is also super inexpensive to make.

For those who show in conformation, what is your favorite thing to use as bait? Watson is very food motivated and not at all picky, so I'm not concerned about him not liking something. Mostly I've been looking for the most convenient thing for me to handle in the ring and haven't quite found it.

So what do you use? I think my current favorite is liver - boiled and baked to dry it out, cut into big chunks. I loved the venison heart that my trainer gave me (not messy, easy for the dog to nibble), but I don't have access to that on a regular basis.
I have about half a beef heart in my freezer. The rest I dehydrated for treats. I can sometimes find beef or pork hearts at Adams in POK.

I don't do confo shows and my dog is treat snob, so that's all I've got

I've been meaning to try tuna fudge! I'll try to whip up a batch this weekend.

And I use string cheese for training all the time, but never thought to take it in the confo ring. I really like how non-messy it is

LostandConfused, I'll have to check out Adams. I didn't even think of them, but they do have all sorts of cuts of meat. I'd like to try making heart with my trainer's recipe.

I especially like string cheese because you can just pull off small "strings" and feed it. Or you can just use a 2" long piece of it and they can nibble on it without getting a huge chunk in their mouth that they have to chew on.

I only give it when I go in the ring, so it's a special treat for my guys.

That's absolutely why I use it for nosework. I should try it for confo and see how I like it.
