I know in Canada they sometimes use a numbing spray/gel, for mine, I just took aleve and had something to dilate things a little the night before. It hurt while it was being placed, but was fine once it was in place, just some period type cramping.

I just want my tubes tied. I'm VERY incredibly leery about using the little copper twists that just scar up your Fallopians because of the risk of ectopic pregnancies plus copper is known to exacerbate depressive/bipolar issues, which is something I am 100% interested in avoiding.

For some reason I've never heard of the copper? Sounds like nothing I would be comfortable with. :/ Seems like there are several different procedures that categorize under tubal ligation. I want them cut, tied, and burned.

Oh you'll be able to handle it - it just hurt like hell haha. I was very quick though. I was going to ask her "how bad is bad, because my bad cramps make me throw up" and before I could say anything it started to hurt and I couldn't talk anymore.

You can definitely drive yourself to and from and likely go back to work after with no problems. I did! The entire appointment took maybe ten minutes? Not very long at all. The actual placement took probably a couple minutes. About as long as a pap smear, I'd say.

I haven't gone to pick it up yet, but yes, as far as I know they gave me a pill to take the night before but that's all? I will likely just take some meds before hand. I'm used to really bad cramps (can't get out of bed, bad) so hoping I will be able to handle it.

I am supposed to leave work to go have this done and then likely go back to work. Anyone know if it's reasonable to expect to drive myself to and from? Also, any ideas how long it generally takes to be put in? Thanks!

I want to cry, I think my favorite lush shampoo is giving me the cystic acne on my back. I had been using the shampoo and getting baaad acne on my back last year. I ran out for about a month in January, my back got way better. I picked up some more two weeks ago, and my back is breaking out again. So so sad.

Also, I'm thinking of going back to the dark side and having my hair chemically colored. I just can't get the color I want with henna, my hair color is so icky right now. I miss my auburny red .

Lush contains no metallic salts, so it won't harm your hair to dye over it, anymore than dyeing itself harms it, anyway. The color you get depends on what was in your Lush mix, since Lush isn't pure henna, or even pure plant dyes. It does have natural chemical additives, so it's a good idea to test out the hair in your brush first.

The only risk of green when using most natural dyes (Lush is all natural, even though it's not purely botanical) is if your dye had indigo in it. Since indigo is a deep blue-black dye, when lightened it may be greenish. If you're going darker this may not be a problem, but again, test first. Also, henna tends to be harder to lighten, so you color could end up more red than normal. With Lush, since it's not pure henna, it's hard to say. Test, that' s the only way to know.

Hennaheads! So I went into my local salon for color, aiming for that auburn. They refused to dye my hair because I have henna'd it (lush), said it would either turn green or melt off and they couldn't take that liability.

I did a little bit of looking and found this...


So..what do we think? It should be fine right? I don't think the lush henna has stuck in my hair very well at all...

I was one of these. Incredible cramping and heavy bleeding non-stop. They kept telling me it would get better, I gave it 3 years. It did not. The end result also left me unable to have any more children.
