Pit bulls as Japenese traditional Shisa, home guardian dogs. They are in the traditional placement of closed mouth left, open mouth right. :)

A portion of the proceeds of sales will go to Hello Bully rescue in PA. :) I'll post the link when it's live.

I have an entire series of prints like these planned! Let me know your thoughts.

I think it's a great idea and wow I love those!! I have been needing some wall art and so awesome that it's going to a good cause
Will all the prints be featuring the same kind of guardian theme? Can't wait for the link to go live!

Primarily the theme is going to be dog breeds with fantasy elements twisted in. Some will be directly based on cultural mythology like these pit bulls, and some will be more whimsical... think Dog Breed Pokemon. :D

Throw ideas at me and they might happen! :D I already have a ridiculously extensive list. I spent my flights to and from Calgary glued to my tablet, coming up with ideas. :D :D

Fabulous ideas, guys! Noted - I already have a few of those ideas, and others, for those breeds! If I had the spare time right now, I'd be doodling them nonstop - as it is I'm doodling fantasy breeds on post-its at work, and I NEVER draw at work. :lol-sign:

I have the next one planned already... just need the time to draw it.

Also, the Shisa are for sale now:

Are they all going to be the same style design theme? Like mythical-ish style dogs in the circley pattern?

Basically I love things that match. And if they match, I'm going to want a mug in each flavor :p

How many do you plan on doing (again, I'm thinking about how much room I have in my cabinet for mugs).

It's a very good question, and one that I'm still pondering. I spent a good chunk of my vacation figuring out exactly what I want to do...

One thing I know is that the breeds and mythology are not always going to be linked together logically (pit bulls aren't Japanese, obvs) and that I will be doing a variety of different creatures. That said, I want to do FU Dogs and maybe more Shisa work with other breeds... but different ideas will come first, for variety's sake.

It's good to know that you want matching stuff! I figured that may be a thing. I think the half-circle background will be a connecting theme for at least the first series.

ETA: Sorry, your last question... I HAVE NO IDEA. :rofl1: I have no less than 45 ideas. And more coming to me (and from others) every day. We'll seeeeee!

Eeeeee! I'm excited! I'm going to order a mug within the next couple weeks then. They have different KINDS of mugs even. With different COLORS! :D
