I brought Elsie home at Christmas time, and it was perfect--I had three weeks of winter break to bond with her and get her housebroken. Plus, she had the experience of all of those people coming in and out of the house.

It worked out really well for us.

Very exciting! Good luck!!!

You'll be getting your puppy right about the time "my" puppy heads back home so you'll have to post tons of pictures to help me over my withdraw :)

gorgeous aussies:) I brought my little aussie girl home a week before xmas, not crazy about winter puppies, but she was very easy, so cute at that age, she fell asleep in xmas boxes:)

What breeder are they coming from??

So the breeder has decided that with this litter.. she is going to leave dewclaws and might leave tails on mis-marked/not-show-able puppies.

Frankly, I'm happy with it :) I do love aussie tails!

Thoughts? I just thought it was very interesting

What great looking dogs! Those pups will be little stunners. What color/sex are you hoping for? Any name ideas? Congrats!

I see nothing wrong with leaving declaws intact. I didn't even know breeders removed them sometimes. It seems such a unneeded thing to do.

-I'll admit, it's always weird to see a Aussie with a tail but they are still adorable! Would you like your Aussie to have a tail or no?

-in saying that, I've never seen a Aussie in person around here. Never. I only just realized that. Aussies here would have tails since it's illegal to dock tails here.

I change my mind about the sex about every other day lol these days...I'm leaning towards a girl :) but choice will be made by the breeder on temperament regardless, and I'll be happy

As for color, I really am growing fond of reds/red merles :) there are lots of colors in the pedigree

At this point I'm just like PUPPYPUPPYPUPPY mode lol puppy fever is just the worst

I would be fine if my pup had a tail, I don't really mind either way lol I like tails and I'm fine with the look of them..although I would miss the aussie butt wiggle and future SD wise, it would be easier if the tail wasn't in the way to be stepped on/taking up space.. but I've never really LOVED the idea of taking off tails in the first place.

Oh and no name ideas yet but hopefully I'll be inspired when puppy arrives! lol
