BC's (family dogs growing up) - Definitely going to have my own someday! I heart them.

Sibe/GSD (I am pretty sure Scout has some Belgian in there too given what was in that group of hoarded dogs) sled dog mutts... aka distance bred sled dogs - Absolutely! I've loved this kind of dog since I was tiny and can honestly say they are perfect for me.

I do very much want a shepherd for my next dog. I want a dog I can work/do sport with, though I'm more interested in experiencing working with the dog rather than going after titles. Honestly having met multiple nicely bred dogs, I would be happy with any of these: GSD, Malinois, or Dutchie. The first two are most likely and I lean toward wanting a Mal because I like their build, athleticism, and personality better. Not to say GSD's aren't super athletic by any means because they certainly are! I guess Mals more like the drama queen sled dogs I love in their go, go, go? I dunno. At least you can entertain the cracked out Mals by throwing a ball, unlike the woo-woo girls.
I'd be equally happy with a GSD though. I very much click with these breeds like to a scary level. I had no idea until I got Lily (Sibe/GSD) and began researching the breeds to learn more about that side of her. Scoutie is basically a GSD with a curly tail tacked on, lol. She's fun to work, but she has a lot of baggage. Its made me a much better trainer and we're really bonded, so I in no way regret having a baggage laden, badly bred rescue dog. :)

Poodles 100% yes.

Collies/sheltie 95% sure

Beagle 50/50 on that one. I adore mine. I doubt id seek one out. But I would never say no to one.. Such a fun clown like breed.

ChiXpoodle possible I do want small dogs too. and if a shelter/rescue had such a cross that fit me. I wouldnt pass it up.

Every time I go back to this thread, it makes me think about how much I wuv my dog. :)

Which is funny since I used to want to kill her and almost swore I'd never again own a boxer.

Dobermans - always and forever

Pembroke Welsh Corgis - may get roped into one last corgi, but I hope not. Too loud, too hairy, too argumentative with other dogs. And we'll never have two at a time ever again.

Mexican Street Dogs - probably not, but only because by the time we're ready for another, I'm not sure who I'll know in the area who can supply us with one. Also, Talla is pretty hard to top... she's one of a kind. :)

I forgot about my first dog love, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever that I got when I was 12. She was the first dog that I trained and she was absolutely amazing. I'd definitely get another someday.

Honestly? I'm not sure. I would definitely consider the individual dog before the breed, but that being said...

Missy isn't what I would have chosen in a dog, and I wouldn seek out another Rottweiler - we don't mesh. I would definitely consider another Lhasa-type dog. And if all Cocker Spaniels were like my current foster dog, I would be set for life lol.

Oh, with other past dogs. . .
Rottweiler: YES! <3
Bichon Frise: Definitely not.
Lhasa Apso: Again, definitely not.
JRT: Probably not, but I did adore the one I had.

Another German Shepherd Dog? Yes, and without hesitation or second thoughts. Have been chatting with breeders for the last couple of years and continuing to do so. Looking forward to when I get to bring home my second dog and German Shepherd :)

I like this thread!

For breeds I've had/lived with in the past:

Dachshund - Absolutely! My first dog was a Doxie, and I do plan to have another some day.

Catahoula - I love them dearly, and I would have one again... but I don't know if it's going to fit into the cards

Labs - No. I grew up with two Labs, and what I want in a dog is not what either of those two were.

Akita - No. I don't want to deal with the coat!

Pug - No. They're cute and they're fun, but they are NOT for me!

Bull Terrier - I'd like to! Love their personality and drive.. but another one I'm not sure will fit in to the cards now

Fila - There are many, many moments throughout the day when I picture how that situation would be different with a Fila... I just don't know if I'll attempt that leap again.

For breeds I currently own/live with:

APBTs - I will NEVER EVER be without!! They are my breed.

Salukis - This is a tough one for me. I absolutely my dog... but Bukra is very atypical of a standard Saluki temperament in many ways. I don't think I would want to deal with a "typical" Saluki...

Boston Terrier - Another breed I very much enjoy, but doesn't fit into my goals for dogs now.

Chihuahua - I love my Jess, but if I get the weird urge to have a tiny dog... I don't think a Chi will be it.

Aussies are probably the perfect dog for me. They've got looks and brains. They've got the focus and energy I love. But they've got a slightly softer edge than the Border Collies I tend to drool over.

My fiancé moved in with his Chihuahua, and I will not likely ever own another companion breed again. Too small. Too noisy. Not enough focus. Too sensitive. No endurance. They're the antithesis of what I need my dogs to be.

A lab/spaniel mix? Most likely. For some reason though, Suzie is crazy mellow, and I'd prefer a crazy hyper, barky, annoying dog. But I think a dog like her would be nice to have around as a couch warmer. She really is amazing, just not very energetic.

Westie- For sure, at least another terrier maybe a cairn or border instead just for a change but I could definitely go for another westie <3

Aussie- Maybe, it would have to be one from outstanding lines. Dealing with another one with DA issues is not something I want but I ADORE everything else about my boy. The looks, the brains, the drive are all perfect for me. I could see myself with a little female red tri or a self merle in the future.

Hound- Living with Duke has taught me I am not a hound person.

As for the other breeds I have owned: Collie's for sure, without a doubt. They are MY breed. I can not wait until I can add another one. GSD, maybe. I love a good gsd more than any other breed but its rare I come across one I would want to own anymore. BC, again maybe. I like them enough that if the right one came along I would not turn it down, but they are not on my want list.

I can honestly say that I will never be without a few Finkies. They are just perfect for me. I may own other breeds in the future, especially because I love agility so much and not all of them are cut out for the sport and how competitive I would like to be with it, but these guys are just awesome to live with and train <3

I would own a Chihuahua/Dachshund (or a Chihuahua, or a Dachshund) again in the future, yes.

Husky? I don't know. I've recently become more and more aware of how much I prefer dogs with really short coats. I just can't handle the shedding. Chloe sheds, but hardly, and they're tiny hairs that don't really bother me. Violet...whole other story. I love her, and would probably take her if my parents were unable to keep her at any point, but I don't THINK I would get another husky for myself. I love them, they hold a VERY special place in my heart, but again, I don't think I'd get another one. Never say never, though.

I don't think I'll own a Border Collie for a very long time! At least several years... unless I get one from a REALLY good breeder. I've met too many crazy, annoying BCs in the past few years that I just cringe at the thought of owning. I don't think my BC would ever become so creepy & neurotic but just the chance of owning such a dog scares me. My ex-friend's BC, who she kept at our house together half the week, was a nightmare to live with! Barking at every sound, running around like a psycho non-stop, squeaking toys for hours on end and throwing them literally in your face (she broke a friend's nose doing this), submissive urinating all the time, and she was virtually untrainable because her Mom kept a shock collar on her and would constantly shock her for EVERYTHING, so much that the shock collar was always BURNING HOT. This dog wouldn't even let you touch her, she would run away like a creepy spazz, even when I tried to train her using nothing but treats & patience, there isn't enough patience in the whole world to work with such a dog... just a ruined, unbearable dog. Gonzo is never annoying like her, but he's so sharp, untrusting and sensitive with people. I like a dog who is friendly & reliable around all people which BCs do not tend to be. I also prefer dog friendly dogs and while BCs are not necessarily DA, they don't tolerate rudeness.

I will always have a Corgi. I just love them. Looking at Fozzie makes my smile, no matter what! He's trustworthy, rock-solid nerves, hilariously goofy, cuddly, and friendly to everyone. He does not NEED exercise but he enjoys it. Everyone loves him, he's just as much a friend to my friends as I am. Just an amazingly special breed that relates to people so well. And they are the cutest dogs in the world, in my eyes! Especially as puppies. ^__^ OMG.

Beagle - Always and Forever <3 I will always have a male Beagle in my house ALWAYS they are my heart breed and I love me some Snoopy <3<3<3

Dachshund - Yes, if I can find another one like Moe!

Lab mutt - Love Takoda, but never again....too bouncy and stupid for my tastes.

Westie - Maybe one day again...if I could ever get over the heart break of having to re-home Wrigley.
