I posted this on FB but I figured I would post it here too:

Ok, people in the US that have expressed intrest in importing a Koolie. Any of you guys serious? Because I really do want to think about getting a female brought in and splitting shipping would be the smartest way to do it.

Disclaimer: There is no litter I'm looking at right now or even puppies on the ground, just putting feelers out.

Actually... Funny you should ask. One of my coworkers asked me if I heard about Koolies and the breeder she mentioned getting one from possibly is the same breeder Traveler is from. She actually asked if I wouldn't mind asking you about the breeder. Not sure how soon she is looking at getting another dog, but she is super interested in Koolies.

I wish I could swing it, but I'm broke as a joke right now. No more dogs until I get a fence up, I was so close to getting a fence then raked in some major vet bills with my sick cat.

I'm pretty much in the same camp regarding Koolies and importing as I've always been, though I still love Traveler to pieces and can't wait to meet him some day.

I might be interested but I'd like to see some titles and health testing. I would be looking for a sport dog.
Well then you would be looking maybe in Canada but their breeding dogs are not being titled I believe but rather pups going to people who title and a few of their stock come out of not health tested dogs in Australia. Most is the same in Australia except health testing is one in five if you're lucky. I know a couple who do but they are not in the majority.

There might be a couple small time breeders who've titled their dogs and decided to breed a litter but I don't know any off hand.

Mostly, it's ranch and farm dogs.

Ah, no big then, I am interested to see how the breed fairs in sports as well as with health testing and would like to see it before I got into it, ya know?

Ah, no big then, I misunderstood and thought you would be breeding and I was hoping you'd choose the testing route to be sure. I am interested to see how the breed fairs in sports as well as with health testing and would like to see it before I got into it, ya know?
Thought you would wanted to know about health tested and titled stock currently being bred and since I'm not yet breeding I wouldn't fit that category. Right now I'm just looking for someone that might want to bring over a dog with me because god that would help the price.

If you dug a bit you can find quite a few Koolies competing in Australia, Canada and the US. Though they are still more popular as ranch dogs.

Adrianne might consider getting in touch with Wendy, with Spryte?

Ohhh okay, that's fair. I thought you were planning on bringing over and breeding now. I edited my post to avoid sounding like I was asking more than I was, I might be wrong but they seem like nice dogs for my style.

Yeah, the plan is to bring over a female and hopefully breed if I feel it all works out. But I plan on bringing in a pup so breeding won't be for good while. I had just thought you were asking about health tested titled stock imported from Australia and that is a needle in the hay stack but I hope to one day be able to say that about my dogs.

They very much are wonderful dogs if I do say so :D They have all my favorite traits from all the herding breeds in one dog.

I look forward to that day :) Importing a dog just really isn't my thing I'm afraid.

If I didn't already have a pup lined up from a bitch that I absolutely adore, I'd seriously consider getting in on this.

Maybe by the time you're breeding, I'll be in the market for one.

I'd love to split shipping with you, but it probably would make more sense to import directly to Canada for me. Plus, I won't be ready for a few more years at least and I am sure you don't want to wait that long. Plus, I'm kinda hoping by the time I am able to get another dog, you'll already have your girl... a Trav puppy would be awesome.
