The collar I *really* want for Tucker is only available in 3/4"... and I think he can pull that one off.

This is what I'm thinking.

Tucker:

Light blue rhinestones :)
Nice, but I like the Mcstolly mix with more colours. Its nice, but IMO doesn't look good (with or without collar) unless its quite wide. I want one for Bounce :)

Rylie (1/2")... light pink rhinestones instead of the turquoise... in black:

I LOVE that pattern! Cider and Smudge both have that pattern and it looks smashing on them. Its not a pattern I would have picked but Becca has such a great eye.

And Emma (3/8"... matches her BFF Rory :p )

Thats cute, too 'westerny' me but it usually looks good in small and thin.

Now I have collar fever too :D

Thanks!

Do you think the Le Cheat is too boyish for her? The only other 3/8" collar they have is this one, and it's SO not Emma!:

Maybe I should go with 1/2". Ugh, decisions!
I'm not big on that pattern for some reason. I agree, I don't think it screams Emma when I look at it.

lol the le cheat looks just like a brow band (I have a few that are the same only in brass) doesn't do anything for my for a dog. I do like the colour of the the leather though.

What is a brow band? LOL?

I like stars on Rory, but Emma is little and dainty and I want something more girlish for her. I toyed with the idea of matching her to him (he has stars, then she'll have stars), but I think I want to keep it girly. I may end up going with 1/2" because I think she can pull it off.

I think she could TOTALLY pull off stars. And 1/2".

Btw, do you think with this collar:

That the stairs should be brass or silver? I'm thinking brass would look good against Jackson's color... since his head/neck area is that tan/brass looking color. But his body is silver. So I can't decide.

I think brass, definitely. I think it would look really good with his coloring. You're right, though- if could really go either way.

The Le Cheat is the one with the stars :)

I am doing this all on my phone lol. I wandered out to my barn and snapped a pic of one of my browbands on a bridle.

ETA fixed it on my puter.

Ahhh, I totally know what you mean now.

I was thinking a sweatband that you'd wear running. Like, uh, brass would be really, really uncomfortable.

well I voted for the candy, but it wasn't clear it was for your chis lol.

Wow only one inch on a BC? I won't go less than an inch on my JRTs! That must be sooo tiny/delicate on him. We want to get one for Sport (not sure why, won't see it through the hair lol) and the width we are thinking is 1 3/4. I held up one of Maf's cocker collars (and her dogs are only 23 pounds) which are 1 and a half inches and they looked too small on Sport.

Rory's a pretty small BC (not sure how Sport is), but I can't see going any bigger than 1" in leather on him. I think 1" is perfect.

He's wearing double leather in that picture which helps it stand out in his massive amounts of fur.

Not sure if you'll even be able to SEE Tucker's collar on him. His 3/8" is lost in his mane. I asked Ian last night if Tucker was wearing a collar or not (he was), and Ian guessed he wasn't. That's how insane his fluff is.

I'd tried a couple of 3/4" collars on my Dachshunds when I had them (all were around 7lbs), but preferred just a 1/2" usually. They could pull off a 5/8" width also, without looking like they were wearing a neckbrace.

I'm not a fan of really wide collars on my dogs. I won't put anything larger than 1" on any of my own dogs. I can't imagine Dance in anything larger than 1", and the Dobermans don't really look nice in anything larger than 1" either.

I don't like 1" on Jackson at all. He's 16lbs but it just didn't look right to me at all. I think 1" on a BC is acceptable -- probably the biggest I'd go if I had one Rory's size. I think it's all just personal preference but I don't like really wide bulky collars. I find very few dogs can pull them off, IMO. The Jack's are pretty muscular little ones, so I think it's more acceptable for them. And their necks are probably bigger than Jackson's lol. He's muscular but has a tiny neck (about 11" -- maybe 11.5") but I don't know... anything bigger than 3/4" looks silly on him to me. And sometimes even the 3/4" is pushing it depending on the hardware it's made with.

This is how I feel.

Like I said, none of my dogs have long, elegant necks. Rory's neck is 14", so I can't see anything bigger than 1" on him. I'd be afraid that anything wider in leather would look like a neck brace, which neither myself nor Rory would appreciate. lol.

Some dogs can really pull off wider collars. I think Chloe looks great in 3/4". I think Tucker can pull it off. Rylie and Emma would look ridiculous in 3/4", though.

We've gotten the paco cat collars in "dog form" - they're SUPER cute, and super tough. Bought a 3/8" (I think) Le Cheat for our dog-in-law, Monte. Monte is like... 5lbs. He's teeny tiny!

That's what I'm going to do... get the cat collars and have them made into dog form :)

The Le Cheat looks ADORABLE... it's nice to see what it looks like on a dog!

Our cats also have Paco gear... one has a black and silver Le Cheat, the other has this one:

But in tan and brass... it's pretty neat! They're thin, but substantial.

I use up to a 3/4 inch on the paps. Any bigger would look weird. Most our nicer collars are 3/4ths
