The xoloitzcuintle (mexican hairless dog)

is a ancient breed that has more than 3500 years of existence, they where found by the astecas in the wild and they where raised from sacrifices and as food.
They are 3 sices miniature, medium and estandar.
The most notable fact of this dog breed is that they don't have hair, in fact a forlock is a fault to the estandar.
Other characteristic is that a pure dog newer will have a complete set of teeth is related to the hairless gen.
See this picture

Genary they born some dogs with fur, but they arent accepted by the standar, the AKC don't reconice this breed,is not common even in mexico.
In fact in the mexico chapultepec zoo are some xolo in exebition.

I heard that they have to use sun screen and sometime cream to smoot they skin, they can be in the cold, even a mexican breeder from a dog forum says he has taken his dogs to europe.
They can take the cold becase they temperature is higer that normal dogs.

I have made a copy of the post of the breeder here:

Very interesting dog. I have seen some info on this breed before. Thanks for sharing! It kind of reminds me of a Pharoah Hound. The Pharaoh Hound's ears and nose blush when they get excited.

Here are more photos!!
I LOVE this breed.

And here if you breed a coated xolo whit a hailess xolo the pupies will be 50% coated, 50% hairless.

Coated whit coated= 100% coated

Hairless whit hairless= 75% hairless 25% coated.

In ocations all the pupies could born coated'

The experts says they are like 300 xolo regiterded in the world  a trully rare breed, that I have the pleasure of seeing them in person, problably I will buy one. :D
