For whatever reason, Lancer naturally responds 100% when I say, "Where ya going?" and pat my leg. It's basically my recall phrase, since "Lancer, come!" is a little unintentionally overused. And "Lancer, here!" is the phrase I use for pointing in the direction of the tennis ball if I threw it in a weird direction and he lost track of it. :p

Rara just has a terrible recall outdoors HAHA. Smells and sights are much more interesting than me and my voice.

Well I intended it to be "here" but it ended up being like a slurred together version of come here. Sometimes it's get over here or where the f are you going, especially with Sam whose recall is well, not awesome. They definitely respond to "here" combined with whatever set of words I'm using.

'Come' is my main word for 'get over here now'. Variations are 'this way', meaning 'stop going in that direction and follow me, but we aren't stopping', usually used while hiking and getting them to come down the right trail when they have guessed wrong at an intersection. Occasionally used to call them off something, since it has a huge history of fun reinforcement and is therefore a favorite command for both. 'Collar' is their most restricting recall cue, meaning 'get right over here and put your collar in my outstretched hand'. Mostly used with Gusto, the king of keep away.

"Here" is my informal recall - come over to me and stick around.

"Come" means come and sit in front formally. I didn't intend to use it that way but it came to mean that.

I also use a lot of other random things like "this way" or "come 'ere"

'Touch' including them slamming their nose into my palm.

'Let's Go' is my "ok, we're moving on and heading this direction! Follow me!"

Mine are not creative. Mine has turned into a collective recall of "guys!". Not on purpose, but it works. When I am out one on one with any I rarely use a recall word. Usually just "let's go". Come is pretty much my emergency word. I never use it unless I absolutely have to.

'Nose'

I use a nose touch to the hand (often includes teeth too) for Hank's recall.

Mia get your butt over here! is often also used.

"Here" is our regular recall.
"Come" is our competition obedience recall.
"This way" for changes of direction.
"Wait" for 'do anything but move forward', which Aeri at least as interpreted as a recall.
"Let's Go" for 'please stop sniffing that thing and come with me'
(mouth whistle, single tone) is our emergency recall.

Formally, "here."

Informally (hiking and such) I usually whistle or like others sort of a slurred "cm'ere." Didn't intentionally teach this, but Squash also recalls to "puppypuppy!"

Emergency, "Who wants boneys?"

I usually just yell their names, "Ryker, come" and "Gypsy, come"

That works about 50% of the time.

Gypsy responds more often to "You hungry?", "Cookies", and shaking a paper bag of kibble. Yeah... I've given up on trying to teach them a recall.

Formal: "Venice, come!"

Less urgent: a two-tone mouth whistle, "this way", "c'mon/c'mere", bending down and opening my arms, etc etc.

"Here" means come sit in front of me and don't move until I say otherwise

"Let's go" or 2 mouth whistles means get a little closer to me (usually when he's sniffing a ton and falls behind)

Emergency: "zombies!" Which I totally stole from someone- I think it may have been on here.

Bailey and Diego do nose targets for the most part - cue is outstretched hand palm to the dog. Gabby is usually just her name, sometimes "here." When we are out walking, "let's go" means stop whatever you're doing and move along.

Come. We're boring.

Now that I think of it though I don't feel like I really use it. Most times saying their name is sufficient, and if it doesn't get them to come they at least look at me and I think I then usually just say let's go, gesture with my arm or pat my leg or something.

Frodo's is come. Not that he does most of the time :p

Siri's is "to me."
One of the ladies I trained with in PA used that, and I liked it. I think (for me) it keeps my training cleaner, because I'm always saying things like "come here!" and "come on!" :p and this is distinct from other things that I say. I plan on using this for future dogs who have no concept of recall.

I haven't decided whether to try and re-do Skill's to "to me" or just "come" because most of the time he responds to come.

That would be me :p

Zombies is Frodo's emergency U-turn command.
