Tucker was having issues with pooping inside the house. He has not peed inside for a VERY long time, but poops are a dfferent story. I didn't know if he actually wanted to go outside and just didn't have any way to ask or if he just couldn't care less where he goes. So I decided to try bell training, we've been working on the bells for a little over two weeks. He sort of figured them out before, he'd ring them AS we were getting ready (putting on boots, jacket, etc) to take him out but not as a signal for us to take him out. Or he'd ring them as soon as we got back inside because he just wanted to go spend more time outside.

Yesterday Tucker rang the bells to go out twice and both times he pooped out there almost immediately. Thank God. Now I just have to train my parents to pay attention to the noise of the bells

Can ya get him to come over and give Jesse a pep talk? ;)

But seriously, congrats :)

I had to take our bells down because Abby learned to use them for evil. Maybe I should try taking them out different doors and give them another shot?

Tucker is using them for evil too lol. But we're working on it. If I know he doesn't have to go (he recently pooped) I'l remove them so he can't randomly ask just because he wants to be out there. It is helping a lot. He'll usually ask multiple times in the morning or in the late afternoon (after keeping him quiet all day). So to me he does it when he's got pent up energy. So I'll take him out when he rings, stand in his poop spot for 3 minutes and bring him in. Then I'll wait a minute and take him out to play on his long leash. Hopefully he'l catch on that bells only get him to go to his potty spot.
