I started my Pap on raw by purchasing rolls from a friend who orders from Top Quality Dog Food. It is time to place my own order and I'm overwhelmed! Their menu is too extensive for this neophyte.

Timber is 11.5, missing all incisors and lots of molars, and is 7.5lbs. Any bone small enough to be a meal has been small enough to bolt and choke :yikes:, so I'm looking to feed purely rolls.

I'd like to order beef with tripe, chicken, and turkey. I alternate two proteins a day. I'm totally overwhelmed with the math of figuring the percentages of muscle, organ, and bone I'd be feeding in a day or week. Help!

Maybe I should order from Dogs Gone Wild. Their menu is a total of five items. Love that!

I don't feed commercial raw, I feed prey model, but I can say that I have never used percentages at all, for the very reason you stated....overwhelming. It really shouldn't be overwhelming at all, raw should be a fun way to feed. I have always fed according to body condition, and lots of variety.

You can easily overthink the whole percentages and weights and such, and the next thing you know you are frustrated and ready to call it quits. Feeding by body condition and plenty of variety is so much easier and less stressful.

I agree with this. I tried it a while back and gave up within two weeks or so. From then on, I have never gone back.
