Hi :) I've gotten back into drawing recently and I'm hurting for money until I start my new job, so I thought I'd offer portraits to Chazzers. My style is cartoony rather than realistic. Here's an example of a random red tri Aussie:

Right now I'm only offering cell-shaded busts like that, rather than full body - my anatomy skills are a bit rusty so I'm still working on getting those up to par :) I'm not sure on price - I'm thinking $10 each but I'm open to discussion on that. It's purely digital - there's no piece to mail to you, although if you wanted a print we could probably work something out.

I haven't had much practice with curly fur or heavily wrinkled dogs, but otherwise I'm open to any breed! I should have more examples up soon.

Thanks for looking!

I'd love one of each of my dogs. :) Plus helping a Chazzer out when I can is something I try to do.

THAT IS ADORABLE!

I hope you'll be offering these for a while. I get tax money in a couple weeks...

Thanks, guys! :) If you're interested can you go ahead and send me a PM with a couple of pics and a brief description of their personality? I feel like I "know" a lot of Chaz dogs but I want to make sure I use the appropriate expressions and stuff :)

Sael, I'll probably keep this open for a while! Right now I'm in a tight spot, but I love drawing so if anyone is interested I'd be happy to keep doing pictures :)

Unpopular opinion I'm sure, but you should be charging more than $10! How long does it take you do do them? Even if it's for fun, you're doing this to supplement your income and you are WAY talented. These are worth far more then $10.

So many amazing artists really undercut themselves. Charge what you're worth! <3

This. $10 is a nice price to get people on board but if you continue doing this or move onto something more 'complicated' (those full body drawings) you might end up losing money/time. Allie would know more about this than me, since she actually does it for a living. I know most places I've found haven't been under $50. Although it just being the digital might put it closer to that as opposed to prints being closer to $100-$200.

We want to pay you fairly!

I'm also in, but I'd like to see a few more drawings to get a better idea of how my dog would turn out. ;)

I currently charge $100 for a toony style digital bust in a similar style and level of detail as this. But mind you, I've been in the biz for a number of years now and have built up a client base and reputation. When I started out, my busts were about $45. It's a good starting point, IMO, depending on how long it takes you.

I admit it's a bit of a sore spot for me. Being on DeviantArt and other art sites for so many years and seeing artists with ten times my ability charging pennies for their work, and then clients balking at my prices because I'm actually earning an hourly wage with it. Art is worth paying for!

Totally, my sister used to sell art on deviantart/dog sim sites, it's cringeworthy how little quality art sells for on those.

Taqroy, yes, Paypal is fine! :)

Hmm, I hadn't thought about it that way! I guess my head goes straight to "need money now" rather than pricing myself fairly. I definitely don't want to undercut other artists, either! Would you mind if I PMed you with some questions? I would love to pick your brain since this is your business :)

I should have more up soon... probably tonight!

I wish I could get in on this, but alas, I can't. I just wanted to tell you I love your "cartoony" style and you're doing a fabulous job capturing expression. <3

Thank you, Whisper! <33 That means a lot to me :D

I've been using PaintTool SAI lately and I really like it! Last time I was drawing regularly (3 years ago) I was using Photoshop, but I think I'm sold on SAI now. I have a Wacom Intuos3 that I got about 5 years ago and it's my baby! I destroyed my tablet pen a few years ago when I was vacuuming, zoning out, and didn't see that my pen had fallen onto the ground until it was too late. I finally got a new one this past Christmas and I'm *so* excited to be using it again! What program do you use, if you don't mind me asking?
