Irish Terrier!
Wow, what an excellent little dog our new IT is. She's enthusiastic and goofy, and yet she's also clever. She's a terrier, which means she has a definite obsessive side (for instance, if a chewie goes under the couch she will in fact bark at it for hours, LOL), and I'm not sure I'd recommend one for novice dog owners - but for someone who has owned other dogs and is ready for a breed that is a little more challenging but still amazing I'd say look at the Irish Terrier!
She's so unusual looking that we get questions about her breed all the time, and everyone comment on how attractive she is. And I have yet to pass anyone on a walk who doesn't want to pet her or talk about her, LOL!
When we first got her someone here posted that IT's are one of the more "difficult" terrier breeds and that they are pretty much a "breeder's dog" but I have to disagree - they have wonderful temperaments and are delightful dogs!
