Met a Stray Mamma Dog with 3 Puppies..

Last week at my friend's office (a warehouse area)..we met a momma dog with 3 puppies.

They are stray dogs who live on an abandoned piece of land near the warehouse complex. I'm thinking about bringing some milk and food for them.

I'm currently in Indonesia and the majority of population are Muslims. Caring for dogs is not seen as a necessity here. That's why many people abuse dogs because of their religious beliefs.

So the cleaning man at the warehouse complex told us that the neighbors around the area sometimes throw stones at Momma Dog & the puppies when they bark.
We already bring food for them for 5 days in a row.And will try to get the dogs to a shelter. I want Mama Dog & her puppies to stay together as a family, not separated. The puppies look really cute.

Any advice you can give me? I'm really concerned about this matter.

I don't know if trying to keep them together will even be a possibility. Good for you for caring about such desperate and deserving creatures. It won't be easy if they are feral and abused on top of that, but it can be done with great patience.

The first step would be to trap her and spay her. EVen if you have to release her afterward her life would be much improved. If the pups could have vaccinations they might be young enough to be easily tamed and vaccinated. I would consider it an honor to work with a dog like the mother, but not many people would see it that way. She will take a lot of time to gain her trust but if it happens, when it happens it will mean all the more. Wish I could help.
