I'm just throwing some feelers out there. I know that a lot of the members on here are outside of the United States, involved in rescue, or otherwise might be able to help me out.
Quick backstory:
I am an undergraduate student planning a service trip for the summer of 2013 as part of a scholarship opportunity. I've been hoping to work on a rabies prevention project or a similar human-animal public health project. I've been looking at some agriculture/food animal related projects, but a project focused on canines and humans would be my first choice. I absolutely want to work on a project that involves animals, but aims to serve the greater human population.
Here's my question:
Does anyone have any information on groups that I might be able to contact/work with? I have contacted several organizations and some that I've heard back from have been willing to work with me, but I have had a few concerns. I'm hoping to work with an established group that already has a plan to send individuals to work on a given project. Because I haven't had a great deal of travel experience in the past, especially not to underdeveloped areas, I don't think that it would be a smart idea for me to travel without a real "group."
Just putting some feelers out there... anyone??? Any and all suggestions/help would be appreciated!
***ETA - can someone move this thread to the "general dog chat"? Thanks!***
