Okay I have to ask how many of you do art for a living because I have seen some amazing work of outstanding quality on here. I feel kinda bad just posting my little sketches, I have no training in art.

Simply put you guys are amazing!! I would love to be have as good as you all are!

Sincerely,

Art therapist and commissioned artist. I didn't even pick up a pen until I was 25 years old, and I willfully taught myself to draw. I don't do half bad...

I love my job.

I'm not. I'm just a college student as of right now. Yay unemployment! :D

I do a couple commissions now and then, but that's a new thing.

I taught myself except for art class in school. I'd really like to go to an actual art school though to learn more.

Oh, please don't feel bad about posting your work - you do a great job, and we all love to see everyones creations - each has their own individual style and even if you have no training, its so nice to see the talent that you have, and how you progress.
I do portaits as a side job, my "real" job is as a desktop publisher (took graphic design in college). Oh how I wish that portaits was my "real" job. Life would be better - LOL! :)

I'm a tattoo artist. I make my living putting custom art pieces on people day in and day out. Does that count? :D

Making a living at it isn't easy, no matter how good you are. Doesn't change the fact that if you are an artist you find it darn hard to do anything else, and if you do, your art suffers.
YOur little sketches delight my heart so please please post away. I so enjoy the process and seeing others work.

Hi!

I am. :)

I thought it is going to be a lot easier than it really is.:D You become expert in all areas of bussines and you never know enough.

Although I am getting more and more orders every year when order comes in I am still very very happy. :lol-sign:

Don´t feel bad this is how we all learned and still learn by working I will not even comment how many sketches I drew in my life. :)

I am too detail oriented to ever be able to work fast. I don't think i could ever completly support myself with my art alone. WHich blows, but in the midwest, epsecially in missouri even the gallery owners say it is next to impossible. PEople like to LOOk at art but buy it sheeesh. ANd if they do they want it for walmart discount store prices.

I don't do it for a living and I never post on my art on here. Mainly because im protective of it and I don't have a scanner or camera right now lmao. But I paint and sketch on a regular basis and I have done a couple pet paintings that I actually sold. Someday I will post my stuff on here. I just get intimidated with all the other artists on here lmao.

I taught myself and took advanced art classes in high school.

Aww, I used to work for an arts and culture agency before but I had to change career to make a living. lol! Same old reason, but very true for many people involved in arts esp. if you're not rich enough. :)
