What kind of dog do you think I am?

Hmm, some good guesses. I'm thinking maybe one parent was a pit and the other a lab/beagle mix. He's a bit small for a pit/lab.

What kind of dog do you think I am?

The only reason I'm not thinking lab is because of his size. Most labs are at least 2 inches taller and 10-20 lbs heavier.

What kind of dog do you think I am?

Thanks for all of your opinions. When he was a puppy, he looked identical to some APBT puppies I've seen, but as he got older, he started to look a little less pitlike.

What kind of dog do you think I am?

I live in rural Arkansas, and I have never even seen a Shar pei, so I'm going on record to say that I'm about 99.9% sure he doesn't have any Shar pei in him.

What kind of dog do you think I am?

I think he's too small for a bullmastiff or american bulldog mix. I think he's about finished growing. He may end up 18 1/2" 45 lbs tops. I was thinking maybe APBT or APBT/beagle? lol

When is a mutt no longer a mutt?

All dogs come from a common ancestor. I believe I read that a Rottweiler is a combination of doberman, mastiff, and something else. Tosas have bloodhound in them. But noone ever calls a Rottweiler a mutt. So, at what point does a mutt become an actual breed?

When is a mutt no longer a mutt?

Ten years ago, if a golden retriever and a poodle had a litter of puppies, they'd be considered mutts, but now they're "goldendoodles". A bullmastiff is a bulldog/mastiff cross. So, when is a mutt no longer considered a mutt?

What kind of dog do you think I am?

Here are some pics of me now, and the last 4 of when I was a puppy. I'm about 11 months old, 18", and 40 lbs. I do not believe that I am a Shar Pei mix (I've been told this a dozen times) because my tongue is solid pink, and I was told by a Shar Pei breeder than a Shar Pei mix would have at...

    Using Ivermectin

Can Ivermectin be safely given to a heartworm positive, but very healthy dog (2 and 1/2 years old) with no signs of heartworm disease? If so, what dosage should be used?

    Need help placing a puppy

I adopted a pitbull, possibly mix, puppy about a month ago. It turns out he has a sister, and she'll likely be euthanized in two weeks if a good home isn't found for her. I haven't seen her as of yet, but I was told she looks almost identical to Spike, my puppy. Spike currently weighs 30...

    "pit bull" discrimination

I honestly don't see how anyone would mistake Voodoo for a pit bull. To me, he looks like a chocolate lab mixed with a Pointer or English Springer Spaniel. And I've said this before, but do you all really get THAT many weird looks from people? Around here, you could be walking a whole herd...

Actually, American Staffordshire Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and Bull Terriers all are considered to be "pit bulls".

    Aggression............

Wow, how'd you win seven dogs?! lol, sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm having trouble keeping my male german shepherd/goldretriever mix (3 y/o) and my pit mix (6 months old) from fighting over food, our female dog, and me lol. But then again, I was watching Growing Up With Wolves (I think...

"I truly thought all Pitbulls were killers!"

Do people really give you "dirty" looks for walking a pit bull? Where I live (Arkansas), noone could care less what kind of dog you're walking. Does anyone else get weird looks when walking their pit bull?

    Help with Pit Bull puppy

Well, I'd like to report on the pup/cat situation: After one of our cats slapped him in the face three times (in about 1/10th of a second lol) he keeps his distance better. If they run, he'll still chase them, but once they stop running, he stops and turns and leaves, quickly. lol
