Agreed. A lot of shelters-rightly or wrongly-would have labelled him as a "pit-mix". Though research suggests that half of "pit-mixes" at shelters have no pitbull ancestry. I think in this guy's case, appearances alone can't tell us what he truly is.

So funny that you said that, as I also find retrievers and pits to be surprisingly similar. As a volunteer at an Animal Shelter, I've found that there are some individual ABPTs that bug me, but others that I connect really well with (including the one who is now my own). For me, hyperactive dogs...
