Well I didn't have Golden fever until this thread... it appears to be contagious! My cousin had a golden when I was growing up and she was really sweet and smart. Maybe a Golden is in the cards after all.

It's so ridiculous, animals are animals. Small animals are prey for dogs. I think it's really obvious and a random woman freaking out about it and furthermore telling you how bad it was is so crazy! Fair enough, if you don't want to see it turn away - it can be a little gross if you are not used...

What about Molly or Billy? I had a dog named Molly when I was growing up and she was lovely. I've never come across a dog named Emily, though!

Yeah, I think books or toys are a better gift. Books will last him forever - he will grow out of the shoes in no time and when he is older he won't be able to use his designer shoes to show off.
