I would try doggie boots if he will wear them. His foot pads are probably very sensitive to the cold. Also check for chafing, etc.

I agree the methods are good methods IF used properly and by experienced people. For everyday people and their dogs, I would reduce the technicalities as much as possible. The idea is not to confuse the dog but to have the dog focused on his training. There is a great e collar yahoo group...

I would definately monitor his eating schedule and crate him and take him out for potty breaks if possible. As suggested I would change the food.

Yes I am very familiar with this site. I also trained my dogs through one trainer here in the Houston area. I thought the method worked real well. I just wonder if others have used it.

Any of you familiar with the Wendy Volhard method of training? If so, what do you feel about it? I may be going to a seminar in April. This method is pretty concise and works well but has many corrections. It is often used to train dogs up to Utility obedience level and show dogs.

I would find another room mate as someone already suggested. Your standard of taking care of your pet should be accepted. If you get a spouse though, I would definately consider this first....in other words, you must respect your spouse's feelings and please discuss pets (and children) before...
