    Anal glands and grooming

yeah. if the glands really need done then for corn sake you should do them! But if they are impacted or something to that effect, you should have the vet do them. The only real difference is that groomers do it externally and vets do it internally. :)

    Pants?

Thinning shears would take those out very nicely. It would serve your purpose for sure. You just have to make sure you know what your doing! lol if you take the shears against the growth of the hair it could be disastrous. But if you do it right, it would be gorgeous! In the grooming...

How do I thin my dogs fur?

Aww she is beautiful! You could always bulk thin her.. It would take a loong time.. lol Even if you used a furminator on her it would get rid of the dead fur underneath. I would not get her "shaved" beacuse she looks more golden and that could ruin the way her fur grows. other than that...

    clippers?

I own 2 sets. I own the Andis Pro animal wich is one speed, and then i own the andis 2 speed. I enjoy using them both. However, it does depend on what kind of clippering your doing. Clipper maintenance is also a major factor in the life of your clippers. As long as you clean the blades...

    Grooming injury question

I completely agree. Although grooming injuries are not unheard of, they are very hard to deal with. Was your dog matted before you took it to the groomer? If it was it may be a hot spot that was hidden by the mating. However, if it was free of mats, the groomer does owe you an apology...

    What a great de-shedding brush!!!!

In my experience, (which is a lot lol) the furminators don't work that well to begin with. Well, i suppose it depends on what type of dog/cat you are using it on in the first place. But that is some great information! thanks!

How do I thin my dogs fur?

Hello! Speaking as a dog groomer you have a few options. But first, can you tell me a little bit more about your dog? For example, do you know the main breed it is mixed with? This is very important in determining the right technique to use on your dogs coat type. :)
