What breeds or types does your SO not care for?...

My husband only likes sighthounds (unless you are in Europe, where Ibizans are classified as primitive type hunting dogs, not sighthounds. In that case he likes primitive type hunting breeds too). :p He thinks corgis are adorable but never wants to own one.

    Do you know sport people?

A large number of my friends lure course or straight race with me and I know folks who do agility, rally, flyball, etc. But, I have many friends who do not do any dog sports at all, or even own dogs.

Thanks! They are 4 Greyhounds and a Galgo Espanol (the smallest black and white one is the Galgo).

    Let's Talk Ibizan Hounds!

Straight racing is LGRA. I'll give you a quick summary, but there is more to it and the link that I provided will take you to their website. The dogs race 200 yard sprints. The first dog to cross the finish line wins, followed by 2nd, 3rd, etc. They run 3 heats and each one corresponds to a...

    Let's Talk Ibizan Hounds!

I have 2 Ibizan Hound boys. I also spend a lot of time with a bunch of other Ibizans as well. In my experience, Beezers are goofy, crazy, energetic, fun, affectionate, even-tempered, agile, sugary sweet (but not overly pushy), independent, noisier than most sighthounds (although in their country...

    All podencos' (and mixes') topic

I have 2 Ibizan males. My boys spend a lot of time on their hind legs. I have a 6' chain link fence so they don't rest their paws on anything. They just stand. They also bounce in my yard and bounce the fence line hunting for critters.

    Greyhound Puppy Possibility-Pros/Cons

As a Greyhound person I would love to know which breeder you are wanting a pup from. :) I had given some suggestions to a Chaz member several months back and she said she would pass them on to you so I was curious if it was one of my suggestions. :p I think that you have already made up your...

    Ex-Racing Greyhounds...

That has always been my thinking as well. I have raised one, had a few here, and spent a lot of time with a lot of them and none of them have been as awful as people make them out to be, even my extremely driven, bossy, high energy performance girl.

    Ex-Racing Greyhounds...

I feel the same way. :) We moved out to the country and fenced as much as we could (some of it is pasture plus we have a "normal" yard) for the hounds. Mine run every single day. They are fit, happy, and healthy. :) I also have some hounds that lure course and straight race. I'd share...

    Ex-Racing Greyhounds...

I have 4 and have fostered over 50. Short answer: they are pretty easy to live with. Long answer below. :rofl1: Recognizing that there will be individuals in every circumstance that do not fit "the mold", I can say that in general they tend to be very gentle, laid back, quiet, affectionate...
