I have had dogs in the past and I never had a problem with leash training. Any of the dogs I have had would figure out how it works rather quickly. I'm not having this luck with my new puppy. He is a really small dog. When I put the leash on him, he just lowers to the ground and cowers...

I don't have an answer for that but I know they make this goop that is supposed to be good for dogs. Its made by the same people who make the hollow dog toys made for this purpose. I can't remember the name tho. It come in a "Squeezy Cheese" type bottle.
