Hercules: The World's Biggest Dog Ever According to Guinness World Records

Hercules was recently awarded the honorable distinction of Worlds Biggest Dog by Guinness World Records. Hercules is an English Mastiff and has a 38 inch neck and weighs 282 pounds.

With "paws the size of softballs" (reports the Boston Herald), the three-year-old monster is far larger and heavier than his breed's standard 200lb. limit. Hercules owner Mr. Flynn says that Hercules weight is natural and not induced by a bizarre diet: "I fed him normal food and he just grew".... and grew. and grew. and grew.



this is the one that used to be. His neck is 32 inches and does not weigh quite as much

massive dog. you'd never get hassled with him around. he seems like a good owner. you could get yourself in a lot of trouble if he wasn't trained properly

actually the biggest dog i've seen in real life was an irish wolfhound the other day at the beach. it was MASSIVE. i endded up haulign buster up the sand dunes to hide in the bush.
this dog was so lovley it came bounding up to sophie now she is a big dog. but this dog was towering over her. i have never seen something so big.

i can't even imagine..a 200 lb 3 year old dog. He would have had me outweighed before he left puppyhood. That's just cwazzzzy.

At the dog park, we actually saw a Mastiff- not quite this big, but the biggest dog I've ever seen in person. I felt really sorry for the owners because of everyone's reaction: "OH MY GOD!" "HE'S HUGE!!" "What is that??!" People aren't very polite sometimes. But the owners took it in stride- I'm sure they're used to it.

Dang, Donkey. That shoots holes in my comedy routine!

Well either way, since the article itself is real, that means somebody out there is walking around with a dog that weighs the better part of 300 lbs.
When both my dogs weighing approx 60lbs a piece start pulling collectively in one direction I have a hard enough time controlling them (granted they are trained to pull) I can't imagine having a dog that weighs 280lbs...
