We just had the most obnoxious morning here.
I don't work most days until 12, I leave around 11:15 and like to wake up no later than 9. My roommate gets up around 7:30-8 though. When my dogs hear her moving around, that's pretty much it. Cue the pacing, whining, pawing the door, walking on top of me (*ahem* BLOSSOM)... My room is TINY (old house in Chicago) or I would have a crate for Blossom in the room with me, and I would "correct" any screwing around by putting her in the crate as soon as she started. But her crate would take up all the floor space, LOL.
Now, once they get me UP, it's Keeva's turn to be an ass. My room gets super hot at night so I don't sleep in much, but a.) the main house is cold and b.) I need to take the dogs outside, so of course I have to get dressed. Apparently the amount of time it takes me to put on sweatpants and t-shirt is too much, and Keeva has to do her brain penetrating corgi bark at the door.
Part of the problem is that they're excited to go straight outside. (Yay! Outside! Yay! Hurry up!) I know I could mitigate morning excitement by waiting to let them out but... they really do have to pee and I feel bad. They're also excited to see my roommate and her dog, etc.
All that said, and if there's nothing going on to get them up, they will sleep in with me until/unless they really have to pee. On Sunday we slept till 10 and it was GLORIOUS. lol
I'm lazy with house manners but it's too much, so I'm keeping a little dish of kibble/treats in my room, and have been rewarding sort of a casual "place" behavior. Blossom on the dog bed, Keeva on my bed, every stays there in a down while I'm getting myself up, because I know I can't take one more Malinois foot in my face or corgi bark in my brain without killing them. It's getting better. LOL
Also, my random question was "What color is a brown dog?" A VERY BAD MALINOIS was my answer. LOL
