This breeder who is I believe the only breeder of Filas in Canada what do you think of their dogs and does their dogs names or lines sound familure at all. If that Makes sense:

I did email then a few months back and never got a response and their website is terrible. My guess is that they are just glorified BYB.

I don't know if it is the photographer, but some of these dogs seem to have very pronounced stops. Filas usually have no stop, pretty much just a slope.

You can see the slope in this picture of Cleo and Titus. I would probably keep looking. There is a perfect Fila out there for you.

Website looked weird to me.

Is it normal for people to put a deposit on a puppy before the breeding even takes place?

It's not uncommon.
