does your vet charge? I recently read on another forum somewhere that just for a routine exam, their vet charges $70!!! I thought that was pretty outrageous.

My vet only charges $39 for a yearly wellness exam/medical exam, and even gives a small discount for additional pets if you bring them in at the same time (I think the second pet only costs $30). Vaccines range from $16-30 (newer, 3 year vaccines are more expensive). Normal cat spay is $135. Just for a few examples.
He's even one of the more expensive vets in the area as well.

A regular office visit at our vet (holistic practice) is $38. Most vaccines are around $15-17.

I have two vets -- one for surgeries, and one for vaccines/basic check-ups. I think the latter charges about $40 for a routine exam, plus whatever price a vaccine is if they need one. He often charges us less though since we've been seeing him forever and we have multiple dogs. The other vet (the one we use for surgical procedures) charges about a $60 fee everytime you walk through the door... nevermind an exam or any treatment. But he's well worth it.

Just to walk in the door = $60
Izzie's Spay (Just the spay and fluids) = $400

I've never gotten vaccines or checkups done there before so I'll put the old clinic's:

Vaccines = $60 to step through the door + $30 for the actual jabs = Total: $90
Wellness Exam = $60 to step through the door + $20 for the exam = Total $80

Yearly Exam (which isn't much...) + shots cost us $50 per dog.

Spays are $275, IIRC. Neuters are $240ish.

10-25lb Boarding is $12 a night.
26-50lb Boarding is $13 a night.

It depends... Sometimes if there's nothing really wrong and he's just checking to make sure a suture has closed up or checking a limp it's free. Usually it's only 20-30 for a visit with medicine and procedures of course costing more.

It's $42 for a physical exam. Juno's spay was about $210 (<50 pounds). Vax are between $15-$20.

Just for reference since I have an invoice in front of me right now: when Juno was 16 weeks old, the physical, DHPP, rabies, lyme, and bordatella shots, dose of Heartgard and Frontline ran us $126. We really like him so any price is worth it, plus he oftentimes does things for free or at a discounted price for us.

I can't remember if the exam fee is 30 or 35 lol
of course, shots and meds are extra, but they're not very expensive IMO. I haven't gotten a dog spayed there in so long, I honestly don't know how much that costs. But when Mia got spayed, and got a mamory tumor removed and sent out to be tested it was well over 400. Not too bad.

We get a good discount for the non prof rescue. And we have decent low cost clinics in the area, which has been very good for he community IMHO.

We charge 45$ for a physical exam (no office call/walk through the door fee). Vaccines range from 11-30ish depending on which one. Recheck exams (like for ears, etc) are 20$ something. Spays/neuters/dentals pretty much all fall in the 200-350$ range, but we require bloodwork and catheters on all surgical patients (excpet cat neuters as it takes longer to do a catheter then the actual neuter, no bloodwork either, but that is the only one unless its an emergency or wound closure, etc).

I use two vets, one for checkups and shots and one for more major things.

Our normal checkup vet doesn't charge an office fee. For their shots it was $10 for the first two and $15 for the third. Rabies was $10. So in total their shots were $45 a peice.

And when Upendi had an ear infection I think the whole deal including medicine was $10-$15

My families been going to him since I can remember and he's good friends with my Aunt. He's great with his patients too. I can remember him bawling when he lost my Uncle's dog on the table after she had a bad reaction to something. (I can't remember what it was)

He's been a vet his entire life and he's in his mid-70's now I think? So he's got a good 50 years experience. He could've retired long ago, but he stays open more or less to help people out. It's our version of a low cost clinic.

$48.13. vaccines range from $15-$32 depending on what they are (lyme and feline leukemia being the most expensive).

a lot depends on location. even from county to county the prices can vary significantly. in the county i live in, vet prices are somewhat cheaper than in the county i work in. i have no idea why.

Wow! Dentals are only $100, + extra if there needs to be extractions ($25 for 'major', $5 for 'minor').
And then if it is a suture removal, or a recheck from something that had been seen recently, it is free. My vet likes to keep up on things, and make sure they are healing/improving, so that usually means at least 3 free visits after you pay the initial exam fee if your pet is getting treated for something ongoing.

For Rosey, an annual exam including vaccines costs $105.
If she ever needed sutures or a recheck for anything, that is free. Not sure about the price of spays/neuters and such, as I have never needed the service.

It costs me about 90 bucks for a exam and what ever needles he is getting. Then againI get a 20% discount for working in the grooming salon, which is nice.

It's $37ish for an exam, if it's for yearlys one shot is included in that price. Though it's also the same price if we go in for an issue (like ear infection, ripped nail, etc.).

The only time I've had a recheck they didn't charge us for the visit (cat had CHF and was basically dying anyways). A spay will be $158, includes everything + antibiotics.
