I used to watch Good Dog U a while back. I liked it. I think it was from your show where I got the trick to teach Kassie how to put her paw over her nose, the one with the sticky tape. She learned how to do it pretty fast.

Welcome to Chazhound, Joel.
Oh I bet that is a really cute trick! We need video :lol-sign:

Welcome to Chaz!

I'll be honest, I didn't recognize your name either. But by reading through this thread, I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions on a few other subjects :)

He did join another forum I'm on. A lot of the same repetitive borderline solicitation with just enough wishy-washy "advice" to seem legit as a member.

I wasn't impressed over there, and after seeing some of what was written here . . . It just solidifies what I was already thinking.

Good thing I'm not the groupie type anyway. ;)

WHAT? I thought you were my groupie. :( Don't tell me Joel has made you sick of being a groupie... I'll have to have some stern words with him about messing with my groupies.

^^^ Same thought regarding Joel.

Anytime anyone here asked any specific training questions he skirted the question as skillfully as any politician. Also kept emphasizing that he "has a TV show" and seemed to expect everyone to be impressed by just that ... despite the fact that many admitted they had never heard of him. Figured ooookaay ... he's here to promote the videos he's selling.

I'm with you ... definitely not into "groupie-ism" or celebrity boot-licking. Have met enough to know they're just normal people like everyone else. (OK, a few aren't quite normal. :p )

I know I asked some legit 'biz' and training questions and never got an answer.....

He just told me we must know the same people  umm lots of films happen in Canada. I do know one guy from LA and has worked on many popular tv shows, but I just met him recently (lol I was raking his lawn at the time... hahaha)

*sigh* Sure wish Jean Donaldson would stop by... :hail::hail:...

...or get a TV show where I could really see her work with severe aggression cases and counsel the owners. I'd love to have her answer a few questions of mine.

Okay, "meow", it's a dog forum. I'll try to be nice. :)

Joel,
I think you discovered the hard way that Chazzers are very passionate about certain topics, breed specific legislation (BSL) being one of them, and I suspect this may have contributed, at least in part, to the harsh "welcome" you received. Or maybe it's just the full moon making everyone cranky. *shrugs* I just hope everyone gives you a chance to join in coversations as I know many people will appreciate your advice and commentary. Welcome to the chaos!

Hmmm it appears that he has moved on, saw that he has posted with the same intro on another forum. LOTS of boot licking going on but not from any of the good trainers that I am aware of on there. Agreed, lots of folks there asking questions and their not getting much response other being directed to his website..............

Interesting...........and not surprising.

Gotta love the irreverence of chaz.:p
hahaha, I was thinking the same.

I don't think I would love this place NEARLY as much if everyone had fallen to their knees and threw roses at him! :rofl1:

Well, that's disappointing. I guess even when trainers seem to have good people skills on TV, it doesn't always transfer to off-camera... <.<;

I wonder if it was even really him...

I'm thinking the reason he didn't join the forum I mod was because we required him to become a site sponsor before he could even mention his website on there. Nobody ever wants to pay for advertising rights lol...
