Just got my baby, Aiden, from a shelter the other day.

Anybody wanna take a few stabs about what different breeds might make up this little masterpiece? The volunteer at the shelter told me the supposed breed of one of the parents, but I wanted to keep that information quiet till I get a few guesses.

And to make things interesting, here is what his sister looked like:

And one of his brothers:

He is about 8 weeks old. And he is approx. 5 lbs - measured on a "people scale." He's not too "talkative" but he does get yappy when he doesn't feel like sleeping in his crate. Pretty mellow most of the time.

Hmm, I always thought they wormed with pills... I had his first set of parvo shots the day after I got him and they were SUPPOSED to worm him at the same time (free with the shot during shot clinic). I called the vet to confirm after the fact, as it slipped my mind, and they didn't do it, since I forgot to remind them while I was there. They said I could have him wormed next time I came in for free, but I might just go in and have it done tomorrow. His belly doesn't look as bloated now as it did in the pictures...

Okay, the shelter told me that one of the parents is a mini Australian shepherd, but I don't think he looks like an Aussie puppy. They've estimated that he'll get to be about 20 lbs max - which seems about right as he has pretty small paws. I really have no clue what breeds he has in him. He's pretty cute though!

He definitely looks like he has Dachshund in him ;). (And so do his siblings). Dachshunds do come in the color of his sister. And the last puppy looks a lot like my dachshund mix Brad who passed away in July. As for other mixes..I have no clue

Well his littermate has aussie written all over her. There is DNA now a days! If you really want to know! I applaude you for rescuing her

Those DNA tests are a waste of money!

As for aussie. I personally don't see any form of aussie in those pups (But that's just me).

This IS a dachshund color and looks just like the second puppy:

I see puggle/dachshund too---I would say 20lbs should be about right--Wrigley at 10 weeks weight around 5 lbs and he is now 17 lbs full grown.

He's tiny. Sorry I have no guesses, and I know this is totally off topic but has he had worm shots?
I was thinking the same thing. He's a cutie whatever he is. Congrats! (i have no clue as to parantage)

The pups could all have different fathers so the littermates might not be as big a help as we think LOL. I'd buy Mini Aussie X tho...since he has the telltale "mini face" that all breeds even hounds seem to get when someone deliberately miniaturizes them.

And yes my Beagles pups are about 5-6lbs when they go home at 8 weeks so 20lbs might be an inspired guess as to weight!

That coat pattern in the dachund is called dapple. in an aussie it's called merle. It's actually the same thing, but aussies have much longer hair
