You are thinking of NY city area--that is one portion of NY state--lots of areas that would work for Huskies here in NY--Upstate has lots of rural areas, lots of snow and cold! buffalo, rochester, syracuse, potsdam, and more!
Ic I just picture the state with huge buildings and like no where to move thats all. I want to live in the country so as long as there is a rural area it would work .
I'm at Ft. Drum, NY -
There's a long-term kennel (for those of us that deploy etc) that raises Huskies I believe. Check the Watertown Craigslist (there's one trying to rehome a husky with sled and harness) I think those are the same people, but not 100%...not sure how ethical they are since I only called them in regards to boarding my dogs when I got to NY.
I think they are in Pulaski or Dexter area...I'll look them up tonight.

I came to Upstate NY (I'm about 30 minutes from Canada) from Arizona...which is pretty rural...and this place is beyond rural. It's mostly dairy farms up in the north country...and Amish.
