Recently a dog wandered up to my house and has decided to stay. Ive posted flyers hoping to find his owner, But being in the country I doubt Ill find his home. Im guessing he's about 3-4 mos. old. His adult teeth arent quite fully grown out and his testicales are just appearing. At first i thought he might have distemper, But I think its just malnurishment. he weighed about 33lbs. He favors some type of hunting/hound dog type. Just wonderiing if any of yall could help me identify if he's a pure bred or a mixture of a couple. He's got really big floppy ears and kind of howls/bark/growl when he gets excited or sees another dog. Thanks. heres a pic or 2 of him.

To me, he looks like some kind of hound mixed with a border collie. Not just the coloring but something (can't put my finger on it) about the face shape and expression suggests it too.

Yeh, After seeing that one pic, He does have that Border Collie look. Since he's not adult size yet, Its tough to tell. Im just wondering which kind of hound breed it is thats dominant. He's got that hound type gait when he walks and runs. You know, That real goofy awkward look.

You couldnt see the pics?? What browser are you using? Do you see the direct link text though? If so, Just cut and paste it in your address bar and see if that works. Your connection may be a bit slow and it hadnt posted the pics just yet. Sometimes it may take a moment for pics to appear for you.

LOL, I see no Border Collie.

My guess at 3-4 months old and 33lbs ALREADY, would be Great Dane mixed with a Pointer. His paws are way too big, his legs are too long, and he doesn't have the body of a Border Collie. IMO.

Aftera bit of reading Im re-guessing his age. Id say more like 5-7 mos. His adult teeth are still growing in, But it looks like all of them are the adult ones. He is under weight too. He's boney and has a thin build. His shoulders are very narrow and his head isnt broad.

Pointer...maybe Dane. His legs and feet look VERY Dane-like. I see no border collie either. At all. He could be 100 different things, really. Possibly some sort of coohound in him, or even beagle though he looks way too big.

Have you bought him to the vet? Because...if he *might* have distemper, you NEED to bring him to a vet.

I also think he's older than 3-4 months, which is why the Dane thing doesn't seem definate to me. Milo came home at 4 months, and didn't loose any baby teeth until at least 1-2 months later, maybe more. I'd say more like 6-7 months.

Could be ANYTHING!

As an owner of a true Bitza (and knows all the breeds in her) - I've had people suggest all sorts of things to me and they're usually WRONG.

My thoughts too. I don't see it either!

And I agree, maybe a great dane/pointer mix.

I think it's a Border Collie and Lab mix. I think there's border collie in there, and I've seen a collie + lab mix before and it really resembles this dog.
