No offense, but I can't imagine how obese that dog would've been with 10 extra pounds. If he were in my house, I'd be working to shave some more off him. I sometimes wonder if the tendency to pack the pounds on these dogs is related to the impression that they're always big huge tree stumps.

What titles has he been awarded? And what's up with a deal like that? Was it a temporary farm-out or something?

Wow, that was a lot of reading, and a lot of information Baha! Thanks.........I feel like I understand and know a bit more about them now.

So basically this "Razor's Edge" thing with pits is a lot like the "Warlock" thing with dobes?

It started out as a good thing and true, and now too many are BYBing and distorting them, and down right lying about it as a selling point??

I bought Nemos for 1,500.00 with a return contract @ 2 years old, Nemos was sold back to the breeder a few months ago.

He is 20 inches at the shoulder, weighed 62 pounds on return. The breeder did say he would put him on a diet. His new pix he sent me look like he lost 10pounds. Nemos is prolly pissed.

He's won 2 Titles since.

In my opinion, anyone selling a puppy for 1,200 is looking for MONEY. And the person why BUYS is a person who just got suckered.

THAT is a big problem I have with those "designer" pit bull lines and their breeder.

My own opinion. You probably do not like it. And yes, it looks like he can lose a few pounds, especially if the owner wants him to be conditioned.

Sounds like it Coop. Warlock was a nice dog in his own right and 90% of dobes now go back to him, but now they are breeding bigger and bigger and calling them Warlock.

Those dogs are definitely coffee table/english bulldog mixes.
At least many people are now calling them American Bullies with influences of APBT instead of passing them off as purebred APBTs. When I run across those dogs I have to make myself feel better by look at Lil Bit, Loki, Priest, Terra, and the other gorgeous-nesses.

Agree to disagree then? For an APBT, he's heavy, even after having "lost 10 pounds." These dogs are supposed to be lean muscle. Carrying a bunch of extra weight detracts from their ability to work. But I guess if we're being honest, he's got a bad topline and lack of stifle, so I hope they're not working him too hard anyway.

I see absolutely no hint of rib in that pittie posted. And he lost 10 pounds? Someone was not taking proper care of him. I'm sorry, but thats just how I feel. I am sure he feels much better having the extra weight off. I would.

Reggin is in good condition for being a couch potato. Or should I say FLOOR potato, lol. Its because I dont over feed him. Simple as that. You can see a few of his ribs and the musculature he has on his underside, over his ribs.

Pitties are not like other breeds. People claim that greyhounds are underweight when they are not.

Sounds kinda similar. Although some would tell you that the RE dogs started out with the intent to make them bastardized. The only one who knows for sure is Dave Wilson, I suppose. I'm not a Dobe person, so I don't know what the Warlock syndrome is.

THAT is what a bulldog should look like. They are working dogs, and darn good ones at that. Extra weight will only slow them down, not to mention it is unhealthy for them.

as for the razors edge/american bullies...they don't appeal to me at all, meh.... I have met a few and most are just big sweet doofs. If I want a big lazy dog though, i'll get another Dane

As long as they aren't being called APBTs, I really don't mind them... To each their own.
