Anything by Patricia McConnell! She's one of my favorites! I also highly recommend "Idiots guide to Positive Dog Training."

Forgot to mention this one when I originally posted and now that ive read it It's such a great book I think it needs to be added to the list:

"The only dog tricks book you'll ever need" by Gerilyn J. Bielakiewicz best of all it's only $7.95 AM and $9.95 CAN.

It goes over the fundamentals of using the clicker, how to shape, capture or use a target to get behaviour started, when to add the cue, rate of reinforcement, minimizing the cue, fading the target and has over 56 different tricks to teach your dog from easy tricks to advanced tricks like go find my keys ( and bring them back to me) as well as a break down of training for different dog sports EXCELLENT READ!

There are pretty good online books and I would recommend Secrets to Dog Training (formerly known as Sit Stay Fetch), but you can pick up some decent tips from ebooks online, for example on Ezinearticles.com where there are a ton of articles on the dog training topic.

Has anyone read Cesar Millan's books on dog training? I bought one of them recently to prepare for our new dog. I thought it was pretty helpful. I've heard of Karen Pryor, intend to go bookshopping this weekend.

Here is a video I have seen in you tube that teaches how to get your dog to come when called. I want to share this with you maybe you can get an idea too. Check out! YouTube - link edited out by mod and left as an object lesson

Oh, I kinda like it when they all go to the same thread. Makes it easy to clean up.
