| Hello, I have just launched a new dog related forum site, similar to this one. The main difference is that, with my forums I am trying to place an emphasis on breed specific discussion. As of right now I have separate forums for each of the top 25 breeds as listed by the AKC. I plan to have every breed represented, but wanted to start slowly. Anyway the point of this post is that I am looking for those who are knowledgeable in certain breeds that might be interested in becoming moderators of the respective forums. I hope to foster an atmosphere very similar to the one that exists here, very friendly, welcoming and most of all helpful to those coming with questions. If you have a website devoted to a specific breed I would have no problem displaying a link to it in the forum description of the forum you would be moderating. If this is something you might be interested in, please stop in and leave a message: http://www.dogdiscussion.com or email me at admin@dogdiscussion.com Thank you. | I think you would have a problem getting enough members for that many boards i suggest you start with the class related fourms like working then when you have enough people branch out to specific breeds |

| Thanks so much for your kind words and advice. I agree with what you are saying, but at the same time we aren't trying to be in direct competition with forums like this that already cater to those seeking general information. we hope that sometime in the future, when someone brings home that new Lab or Yorkie or whatever it may be, and they have a question .. they can find breed specific information. "My new lab just ate my couch and dinning room table is that normal" A: "Yes, or course it is" |

| I personally feel we can keep invidual questions in the breeding section...I like to read of other breeds other than Goldens. I think most of us belong to another forum that is strickly our breed. |

| My opinion for what it's worth is that a moderator shouldn't be chosen for their knowledge. They should be chosen for being impartial, polite, respectful. Just my two cents... |
