So within the last week, Rosie has been pulled from a Seattle shelter and has had surgery. The surgery was to remove a tumor from around her privates/tummy, to clean her ears, and to clean her teeth. Her ear infections were so bad that they contributed to her loss of hearing.

Anyway, what I was wondering is if she can have a bath? I doubt she has been bathed since her surrender, as she absolutely reeks. I wouldn't normally be as bothered by it but we are hosting two Christmas parties and a birthday party and its kind of gross to have guests over when your house smells strongly of gross dog lmao. Her fur is so greasy that if you touch her your hand comes away tinted brown and covered in grease

Obviously if it's not possible or if you guys think it will be too stressful I wont because I want to do what's best for her. However, it would be really nice to have clean dogs and a nice smelling house for the holidays! I know that I would have to keep her ears away from the water, but is it ok if the site of the surgery (shaved with stitches) is wet?

Maybe you could give your vet a call to see what they think.

If they say no washing, I know they have spot treatment products that make your dog smell at least semi nice. You could also use a wet towel to get up some of the grease on her topside and then spray her with dog perfume before the guests come!

I would ask the vet, too. As for being too stressfull - dogs are pretty adaptable. I bet she'll feel loads better (if the vet says its okay). Usually its not good to get stiches wet, but you could cover them with vaseline & a bandage or something
