Default Would you guys help me with a career path?

I am having problems with choosing a career path. It seems like nothing fits for me. So... I wanna do something with animals that pays decently. Vet Tech isn't an option, my grades are too low. bleh. So, anything come to mind to you guys? I wanna do dog training for a living. But I know that won't support me. Thanks in advanced.

If not vet tech, there's always veterinary receptionist.

Kennel management, although that can be difficult -- any other kennel jobs are usually seasonal and there aren't a whole lot of kennel manager jobs available.

Dog grooming can pay pretty well and even bathing can be decent in the right salon.

Why wouldn't dog training support you?

Pet sitting or dog walking would also be something to look into. Or a combination of pet sitting/dog walking/bathing/training.

Grooming is a good option but I think it can be hard to get into.
I'm trying to get into Vet Nursing atm (didn't finish school)
Eventually I'd like to work with assistant or customs dogs or one day own a boarding kennel but I want something I have some training in to fall back on. Plus the training you get as a Vet Nurse, even though the money is terrible, is handy plus whatever you can do that shows interest in the animal industry will help aswell.

Grooming is not very hard to get into at all actually. Lots of groomers want to train someone to help them out. they get someone who doesnt know much about grooming and teach them everything. that way the person does everything how the boss likes it

I even got into show grooming not knowing anything because the lady wanted to teach someone how she likes it done. someone who will not say "no thats not right, i will do it this way instead"

Can you go to some form of school for grooming? I know there are schools for dog training. Any good schools for grooming?

You can work your way up to Vet Tech, if you get in as a kennel tech now and stick with it. I know a number of people who did it that way.

Dog training will support you just fine, especially if you start apprenticing now.

Are you still in high school? When I was in high school I never got the best grades either but that really does not matter once you apply to college I am going for a vet tech, and have been going to school for a year and a half already. So dont tell yourself you caint do something. I used to do that alot i would put myself down, and let my doubts get the better of me. But by staying positive about i have reached my goals so far,and I know you can to I believe in you what ever you choose.
