Default how much help do you get with the kids?

I've come to realize I am very, very spoiled. OR blessed, rather. Sometimes I get asked how the baby is doing, how Dustin with the baby, etc. When I go on and on about how great hubby is with the baby, people sometimes ask if I'm being sarcastic(if they don't already know Dustin well). Apparently some people believe men like him don't exist. Lol. But he really is soo helpful. He changes diapers (and even is willing to fold and use the cloth diapers), he burps Mason after I nurse him, he holds and calms him when he's screaming and he spends so much time with him when he's awake. He's even offered a few times to scrub and pre-soak the poopy cloth diapers (that's usually my job) when I was really tired!

Am I the only one with a hubby that spoils them? How helpful is your hubby/SO with the kids?

I get to spend all day long with Hannah while Brian is at work... so when he gets home... that's his time with her... although she's not very high maintenance these days lol so it's easy for both of us.

I remember just after she was born I would say to Brian "can you hold her for a second while I pee and then I'm gonna change her diaper" and he was like "uhhhh you know I can change her diaper right?" I was like "uhhhh... ok" and then proceeded to stare over his shoulder the entire time. HAHA I didn't want to share the duties at first and he was starting to feel sorry for himself that I wouldn't let him do anything for her. BUT it didn't take me long to get over that.

No Brian is a very active partner in the parenting department. he also does the majority of the cooking and other than tuesdays most of the housekeeping too. I'm not a very good housewife if you can't tell HAHA.

on days when he doesn't get home in time to see her before bed... I basically lose her to him for the entire next day lol

Sparks, you sound a lot like me! I am a horrible housewife! LOL. Though DH isn't really any better so we eat take out a lot or grilled cheese...lol.

DH does help a lot with changing diapers and on the weekends sometimes he takes the baby in the morning so I can sleep. And he feeds the baby and bathes the baby when I ask him to also.

I can't wait to find out how hubby will be with the baby... but if he's treating the baby likes he's treating me or better, than the both of us would be two happiest ladies on the face of this earth!

We live with my parents who love me more than they love themselves since the day I was born. So between my husband & my parents, I'm sure I'll have plenty of helps when needed.

and I'm thanking God for it everyday! In your (so is my mom's) generation & generations before you, the woman job was to take care of the husband, house, and kids and everything else in between.

I don't think I'll survive for a day without my husband's help with houseworks lets alone the new baby!

Oh, I believe it grammy. My grandpa told me he's never changed a diaper, ever and he had four kids! He didn't even hold his own babies until they were 3 -5 months old. My dad maybe only changed 4 diapers out of all four of us kids (mom had 3 kids in diapers at a time). My mom was so surprised to see Dustin doing sooo much.

I always wondered how hubby would be as a dad...I knew he would be great but never really realized how great he would be. He has his first real test though starting tomorrow. I am leaving town and he is on 24 hour duty. He has daycare for the daytime, but he has never done night duty without me...he has put her to bed but no middle of the night feedings...it will be interesting to see how this goes...especially since she won't be getting a boob which she is rather used to and quite fond of in the middle of the night. Oh how I am going to miss my girl.

Couldn't ask for a better husband and father than Kevin. He was always faster/better at changing the diapers than ME! NO JOKE! Feeding, burping, bathing, you name it he took his turns.

He is sort of the neighborhood dad now.........you know the dad kids come to when they need oil on their bike chain, maybe a wheel is loose, or even need a ride home 2 blocks away because it started to down pour. Our kids are like "Ah, don't worry, my dad can fix it!" LOL, lucky Kevin! hhahaha

He does anything I ask him to do around the house too. If there is anything I would improve, it would be that he NOTICED things on his own, LOL, you know, like if the front room needs to be straightened he never sees it..........if I ASK him to tidy up he does it with a smile

My mom has actually said "I prayed for a husband just like him for you" Now if a mom will say that, he HAS to be good!
