Default Life

Most of you know me. I am ALL about individual liberty. About each persons right to choose their own path and this reap the rewards and/or suffer the consequences. So, of course, women are free to abort their unborn children.

Breitbart.tv Planned Parenthood Leader Resigns After Watching Ultrasound of Abortion Procedure

But how in the WORLD can we tolerate it in other than the most extreme circumstances? Spin away... Its nothing short of murder. The baby has its own DNA and is a living, seperate organism.

Again, I would NOT support any law banning abortion. But is says something about our society that to kill or not to kill the unborn is even a major issue.

I definitely think there are times where it is nessecary or where someone is backed against a wall and definitely in the case of rape and such.

but as a method of birthcontrol... women who have multiple abortions? that's just... wrong IMO. YES it is their body but maybe they need to have better control over them selves. I think those people need mandatory counselling and then some. You have ONE... fine... two? well I dont' know... THREE? absolutely outrageous.

AND I think an ultrasound should be done and shown to the mother before the abortion.

adoption IS AN OPTION. YES there are millions of kids waiting for families... but majority of families are waiting for INFANTS.

Oh wow, that's where I live. xD

I think it's sick they told her to 'bring more abortions in'. I don't agree 100% with your argument but I certainly don't agree with abortion as birth control and the whole idea of needing to bring in more abortions just leaves me with a little more disgust about the human race.

I don't think abortions should ever be made illegal.. I don't think it should have to be. I've never conceived a child from rape, so I can't speak there... I know when I was told over and over that my son looked like my brother, for a week it was really hard to look at him and think he was cute, as awful as that sounds. I couldn't imagine what it'd be like to have a constant reminder of the man that raped me by looking at my child... but I also can't ever imagine killing a child. I'd give it up for adoption (though one might wonder if there would be many people willing to adopt a baby that was the result of a rape? they might think "bad genes"?)

All I know is that I could never ever kill my baby, no matter who the father was. ESPECIALLY if it was my own stupid irresponsibility that resulted in that child. IMO, it shouldn't have to be illegal for people to know it is just plain wrong.

That is very true. Babies do not wait long before being adopted.

I think abortion should only take place when the mother's life is in danger, because that is already a matter of life or death. Otherwise, I feel it is a matter of convenience. And really, circumstances like rape, incest, or the mother's health are minimum in reasons why abortions are done. That says really horrible things about how much we value human life in this country.

I watched the video, but I don't understand why PP is taking the lady to court...

Er... really? I look like my dad's sister - particularly when you take a photo of when she was young and then look at a photo of me when I was young. I look a lot like my dad, but he's a male and I'm a female. And I also look like his sister, who looks like him, but he's a male and she's a female.
So the two females look a lot alike. Because we both look like the same male, except we're females. I don't think anybody in the family has ever thought it was a weird comment. (Except my mom, who is mad that I look far more like my dad and his family than my mom and her family, LOL.)

Almost definite that they wouldn't know. People do not attach signs to their children's necks when they give them up for adoption that label them with a reason the child was given up. They don't come with writing on their forehead that says "I was given up because my mom got pregnant at 13," so why would they come with writing on their forehead that says "I was given up because my mom was raped?"

I'm with you, Puck, I would not support a law making abortion illegal. But I do think it says something about our society that the right to kill an unborn child is something so hotly contested... never thought about it in those terms before. So many people are proud to stand up and fight for the right to kill... hm.

I've never had a child from a rape but I have been raped. From a victims point of view I would have kept the child had it happened. The child is my own rather it came from a sick individual or not. I understand perhaps some people would look at the baby and think of what happened but come on? If it's that hard then put them up for adoption, they should have a chance to live. They didn't choose their dads!

Furthermore if I was told it was me of my baby then I would tell them to save the baby. I know a lot of people say you can always have another baby but you can't have another chance at life. To which my response is always the same. What if I can't? What if it happens again? I've lived my life and enjoyed it the most I can. I want my children to have that opportunity as well.

Yes I am pro-life however I do understand (under some circumstances) the other side's fight very well. Do I think abortion should be illegal? Honestly, yes I do. I think that option should only be given to a mother who is likely to die if she keeps her baby to term. Not for people who just do not want a baby or the other stupid reasons people give.

But don't you know, rape is hereditary. If it is a boy, he'll be just like his father! people are special

I don't think it's an argument about the right to kill a life, it's an argument about the right to continue living your life as you were before an accidental/rape induced/unplanned pregnancy. That said I generally agree with Puck, it should not be a form of birth control but it should by no means be illegal.

To me it should only be done to save the mother or if the baby couldn't survive .
