I would hope my significant other would support me in whatever choice I make.
We would make the choice together, since it belongs to both of us. but it is MY body and IM the person who would be carrying it for 9 months.. that needs to be taken into consideration

I would dump his behind if he told me that he WOULDN'T support me if I got an abortion. He loves me so he should support me no matter what choice I make. Of course I would want to hear from him and understand his side.. but in the end, it would be my choice

I think the father has a perfect right to say " No " to an abortion ! It's his baby too ! What if you want to have the baby and he wants you to get rid of it !? Had Tom and I had a " whoops " and he wanted me to have the baby killed , he would have been out of my life !!!! Last April seems like yesterday to me ..... nine months isn't long to rectify a mistake . A distant family member had an early abortion and has never forgiven herself ....got pregnant again and adopted out . She met him when he was an adult and her previous abortion bothered her even more . He was so happy to have had the parents he had and thanked her for her choice .

I knew a guy who supported his girlfriend's decision to get an abortion. A month later they were broken up. Do I think the abortion is the only reason they broke up? Absolutely not. But I think it did factor into them breaking up. Especially since a year later she got with his best friend, and they had a baby together.

I think the father has every right to say "no" to an abortion and if he wants to raise that child he should get to.

If the father doesn't want the baby, and the woman does she will keep it and go after him for child support. So if he doesn't get a say, then why if she doesn't want the baby her "child support" can be the 9 months carrying the child and the father can then raise the baby.

I wasn't going to comment on this, but it just doesn't sit right with me. Because by that logic, if you love him, you should support him. And I think you'll agree with me when I say that's a very arrogant statement. Especially when your beliefs about something like this are causing the friction.

I agree Andrew... Its the woman's body..but its equally his child. If he wants sole custody/full responsibility and there is no medical reason she can't carry the child then I do think his wishes matter a lot!

And if she loves him, then she should support his beliefs too.

It really just doesn't sit well with me that it's okay to abort a baby that is WANTED. Maybe not by its mother but by its father... 9 months is not that long.
