I don't think it's a political issue at all...or rather, should not be.

Until that certain time, I do not belive that a fetus is viable and therefore not a separate life until quite a bit later in development. The potential is there, yes. But the nervous system, for one is not complete until some later. Because of the potential, I do not believe in abortion for any reason but the most severe....ie: rape, health of mother or potential child or as a freak mistake of a very young girl. I think it's abomidable to use it like birth control.

But again...I do not believe this should be a political issue whatsoever.

personally i have no problem with abortion if used CORRECTLY, ie, extreem circumstance, mothers health, rape/insest, a very young monther ect...

i also have no problem with abortion in one off cases...condom broke, BC wasnt effective, or a one off "i screwed up"

however Abortion as a method of convenience...this i cant agree with...
habitual aborters...women who make habit of sleeping around unprotected because "if anything happens i can always get an abortion" girls who have sex early because "theres always abortion" ect...

personally i think if theres evidence of "habitual abortion" (using it as a convinience) i belive that that should be regulated some how...

making it illegal in any way shape or form however...theres no chance in hell.
would i get an abortion personally...i honestly dont know, ive never been in a situation to need one, its unlikely i could get pregnant even in the worst situation, and its highly likley if i did id miscarry...
but the option that i could if needed...

i also feel theres more than enough children that NEED wonderful homes, that brinign another one into the world only to give it away is flat out irresponsible too...
yes some people realy want to adopt an INFANT...(which ill admit drives me a little bit batty, a kid is a kid is a kid...they ALL deserve loving families) but theres more than enough in this world as it stands.

So the two females look a lot alike. Because we both look like the same male, except we're females. I don't think anybody in the family has ever thought it was a weird comment. (Except my mom, who is mad that I look far more like my dad and his family than my mom and her family, LOL.)
OT
IT isn't that I think it is a weird comment. It is a matter that I have avery big grudge against my brother. I think of him as a very ugly person internally.. so when I was told DS looked like him, well, wasn't that ecstatic about that for a short while. Sometimes when I looked at DS, I'd just look away because Id' think of my brother. I didn't want him looking like someone I thought so poorly of. Now, if I can get that reaction just simply because my brother is self centered and neglects his animals, I can't imagine how I might feel about a baby that may look like the man that raped me. I still couldn't imagine giving my baby up, but I've never been in that position.

end OT/

And hey, I'm not saying that all people would be like that, but there are some stupid people out there that would think the rape thing was 'hereditary' or bad genes and not want the child if they found out it was the result of a rape.

I understand that line of thinking, but honestly there will always be children who need homes, just like there will always be dogs in shelters. If a couple wants a baby, most of the time they're not going to change their minds and decide that a child of any age will do.

I'm of the line of thinking that it is irresponsible to allow that child to be conceived, but NOT to let it keep it's life once it has already been conceived. The irresponsibility is not in allowing the unborn child to live, but in letting it be conceived.

I find that the older I get, the more I am repelled by the idea of abortion. I agree that it should not be banned, but I think that the focus should be on preventing abortions and abortions as a last resort.

Abortion is...so sad, its such a sad situation to be in. I don't think the government should have any control of it. Honestly, I hope mothers that can't handle having a child (not the right time in life, money problems, etc) would think about abortion, because really, there are too many children in the adoption system to put more to adopted.

Yes, I think that was well said.
