Thank you, me too! I much prefer his size than to the tinies I've seen!

His face looks like a Silky to me honestly, if you had posted that only that pic that shows just his face, I would have said 100% Silky no question... but his body seems to be more in proportion to a yorkie and his hair doesnt seem quite as fine as a Silky would be, although it is hard to tell from a picture.

It is possible he is mixed... some breeders will use a silky mom because she is bigger and can better handle the birth and a yorkie dad.... a lot of breeders also just use larger yorkie females for the same reason which leads to the out of standard yorkies.

Either way he is gorgeous!

I sometimes think he is a Silky/Yorkie cross too because my aunt had a Silky/yorkie from a pet store and looked identical to Jackson as a pup. Certain times I see him and think all yorkie! Then sometimes I'll see a pic and think he looks more silky!

Actually that silkies face looks a lot like Jackson... minus the cut, the dog is obviously in show cut while Jackson is in a puppy cut... but otherwise the faces look very similar.

Yeah, his hair is def. NOT like a Silky terrier! So I'm thinking he's mixed. His hair is semi thick, curlyish, and cottony feeling in a way. Because his face definitely reminds me of a Silky face, but his hair is all Yorkie.

Silky Terrier vs Yorkshire Terrier | Small Dogs Paradise

Here's a good comparison I found about details. They're a little wish washy because he has alot of the characteristics of a Yorkie but he also has some of a Silky but I feel like all dogs are different, regardless of breed. I'm just gonna think he may be a Yorkie/Silky mix!

Definitely a Yorkie. My purebred Yorkie is also larger than AKC standards and people keep telling me she's got to be a Silky, but I have papers on her. She came from a puppy mill and I couldn't leave her there. She's close to 14lbs and a healthy weight to height ratio, per our vet. Did you get papers from the breeder?
