It's pork.

Quote:
porcine [ˈpɔːsaɪn]
adj
(Life Sciences & Allied Applications / Zoology) of, connected with, or characteristic of pigs
[from Latin porcīnus, from porcus pig]
from porcine - definition of porcine by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Tell me, what animal do you see in this picture?

Any one of you could have done a simple search and find out that poricine = pig, and meat from a pig is called pork. It is not by any means "mystery meat." I mean, really? o0

It mostly got the mystery meat title because they already listed pork in the ingredients which means they PURPOSELY gave the first one a different name. Why does the first word warrant Porcine when Pork shows up a few ingredients later? And even on another one of their treat labels they used the word pork. So, the thing people don't like is that it's being called Porcine when pork would have and did just fine for other ingredients. Their use of a completely different word begs examination if they even mean the same animal.

I believe it has to do with the way it is processed. Possibly a semantics thing.

There's the possibility that they got the two ingredients from two different suppliers, and they use whatever name the supplier uses.

If you have a food dehydrator, it is VERY simple

I buy ground turkey, you know the kind that comes in the sausage style tube, I normally pay $1 a tub. I mush it up "meat loaf style" with a little minced garlic.

I squish it into various flat pieces, toss it on the dehydrator, and the dogs get TURKEY JERKY!
You could do the same thing with a cookie sheet and a VERY low setting on the oven I am sure

Toss sliced sweet potatoes on the dehydrator too.......My dogs LOVE dehydrator sweet taters

Well like I said, you could probably do nearly as well with a cookie sheet and your oven set VERY low for 3-4 hours. Very low as in maybe 250?? Just a guess, maybe some others who use that method could chime in

Maybe even the microwave..........not sure about that one though. You might try googling "dehydrating with the microwave" or something??

a food dehydrator isn't very expensive and pays for itself in the amount of things you can make so much cheaper than buying them.
