Im not saying anything about cockers but really sweet dogs can turn quite nasty pretty quick when grooming equipment comes their way.

we had this one cocker (notice the word HAD, he is no longer welcome)
His name was Barney. Two grooms, he was a pretty good guy. he would get a little worked up over his front legs but not nearly as bad as most of our cockers. Well the third groom came around. he was on the grooming table, wagging his nub of a tail just as happy as can be. I gave him a nice ear scratch and asked him how he was doing today. I reached for the clippers, and he jumped up and went for my face. I felt teeth barley touch my eye brows. I moved RIGHT in time.

Since then, I will not trust one. Most we do are just up front with you, and let you know right away that they are not going to like grooming, they are not going to be your friend.

Ya, and they are head hangers, until they decide to try to "taste" you.
I have one who was a total jerk, UNTIL THE PARENTS SPLIT UP! Once he went to live with dad he became much more manageable.

I just feel really bad for the ones who have warts all over or very bad ears. it makes you wonder if they are just don't feel that good and will take it out on anyone they can.
Their hair is so thick , soooo many times I will find giant matts in their pads! How must that feel walking on? I'd be cranky too..

I have two scottie sisters, I cant' say i love them, but i do enjoy doing the trim and their faces..
My faves tho, are the ones who rush into the shop to see me big or small, can't help but love them back.
I have one golden who will get finished then, run back to the tub, hoping for another bath, back on the table, anything for more grooming..
