Comments:Hi, I have two mixed breed dogs that are about the age of 6. One is a mix of a coon hound and rottie (though I don't see that) and the other looks like german shepherd, rottie and lab mix. I have been unable to keep these dogs for a few years due to the development we moved in doesn't allow fences. As the story goes we have hoped that they would eventually allow fences, but haven't. In the meantime the dogs have lived with my brother, but when my mom passed away he had to move and my cousin offered to take them for me while my husband was deployed; however, they haven't lived the most pleasant life....be/c they have had them on chains and I don't know what to do. I am sitting here crying my eyes out b/c she wants them gone and I really don't want to have to take them to an animal shelter b/c they are really good dogs and have been together since pups. This is killi ng me to write, but I would rather see them get a good home, than being euthanized. Could you please -Contact me? My number is 3046771750

I don't see why they wont be able to keep them. There are plenty of dogs living without fenced in yards, large breed, medium breed and small breed. Instead of getting rid of the dogs because their is no fence that person should be starting a petition for a dog park near by or get support for changing the home owner association rules about no fences.

Hi Lola's Dad, I agree with you about being an activist. Some people, though, just don't have that in them. I am not sure why having no fences is a problem either. There must be a reason.

Im a little baffled to because, we get our dogs for life ,and to get rid of them for something silly as not having a fenced in yard? i dont quite understand because i have two siberian huskys and they would take off without a fence or leash on, and we have no fenced yard its just about being responsible, and taking care as a pet owner to only let them go in a safe place. like a dogpark, or a closed in tennis court.

Baffling to me too..I lived for 5 years in an apartment with three dogs...we utilized leashes and long walks.

Too many dogs are in dire situations.. This isn't one. Don't have a fence.. people make do all the time. They also chose to move there. Sucks but I can't say I'm feeling too much need to help them.

It sounds like they wanted outside dogs and without a fence, they don't 'work' for them. I feel bad for the dogs, moving around like they are, but not much sympathy for the owner. If the reason had to do with regulations not allowing the DOGS, I'd feel different, but a FENCE? Nope.
