Default Revealed: New breed of puppy that will grow into 'the world's best guard dog'

This might be the silliest article that I've read in a long time...

Revealed: New breed of puppy that will grow into 'the world's best guard dog' | Metro.co.uk

Quote:
This tiny newborn puppy could that fits in the palm of a hand could grow up to be one on of the world's best guard dogs, according to breeders.

The tiny brown female pup is thought to be the first of its kind – a new crossbreed of a Belgian Malinois and a Siberian Husky.

It means the canine, who is yet to be named, should be fast and possess the stamina of its father – a Siberian Husky but also display the guarding traits of its Belgian Malinois mother.

The pooch could be used by police and military according to security expert and breeder Darren Debenham, who sells dogs all over the world to police forces, the military – and even celebrities.

He said: "People have been trying to breed the two dogs for years but for some reason they would not breed and the pups died hours after they were born.

"We believe this is the only one in the world and we hope now we can create a bigger and better breed.

"We wanted to breed the two because the Belgian Malinois is a very fast and active dog and they can get to great speeds. They also have a high prey drive, but they do tend to over-heat and get tired very quickly."

He added: "With the Siberian Husky they can get to great speeds and can run great distances with their stamina. So now we have a Malinois which can run that little bit further and be that little bit bulkier."

Debenham said that colleagues from the US and Canada "could not believe it" when they heard about the birth and are coming to see the puppy in the next few weeks.

He plans to train the dog and, if all goes well, put her into a full breeding programme.

"She has doubled in size over the first few days - I can't wait to see what she turns out like," he added.

"We haven't actually named her yet, we are waiting for suggestions from the public, but we have decided on the name of the breed - it is going to be called a Huskinois."
Maybe they just need to get some QUALITY Malinois? If there is anything that I would not call the majority of working bred Malinois, It would be a tendency "to over-heat and get tired very quickly."

The silly thing is that the things that they are trying to improve on aren't normal breed traits.

Now, excuse my while I breed my AmStaf to a Greyhound because I want puppies that have short hair and long, thin tails, unlike those fluffy fat-tailed AmStafs.

If it's a trash mag, I would hope that there is better gossip in the world than that. Jon & Kate and Mackenzie Phillips are much more interesting.

There's already a faster, stronger dog with a higher drive that will run down and hold a fugitive or disarm someone wielding a weapon instinctively. It's called a Fila. Hope law enforcement never figures it out, though, Filas are too good for them, besides, they wreck the grade curve at the police academy

Definitely sounds like a mix everybody's been trying to breed forever.

Why would they "Not breed", and why would the puppies die? And why's there only one puppy?
