Default Fun, "educational' puppy toys?

I've been buying toys that don't last an hour for Ozzie (6 months old), and was looking for some that might hold up and be fun. I happened on some toys that are made to 'stimulate' the dog brain and keep them busy.

Some of them blew me away, over $50, not a chance with Mr. Destructo, so went for the Kyjen Iqube plush puzzle, and the Hol-ee Mol-ee Extreme. I can't believe how much he's enjoying them. He's even bringing the Iqube to me to re-load for him. Very impressed.

Does anyone know of or had experience with any other 'brainy' dog toys to try or stay away from?

Bumble Ball?

Fun with a Bumble Ball

OF course, if he catches it, he could chew the rubber off the nubs.

Have you tried a kong with treats inside? Smear it up with peanut butter and freeze it. It should keep him busy for a while.

Xena also loves her Kong Wubba. It's sort of a toss and tug toy, but she'll grab it by the "legs" and flip it around a bunch. It's funny to see her get it, flip it around by the legs and then put it down and scootch it about until she can get the "body" to chew. OF course, she wants me to grab the legs at that point to play tug.

That bumble ball video is great, thanks!! I'll have to try one.

We've tried the wubbas, got him a BIG one, and he had the top ripped off in about 5 minutes. I was very disappointed, the other dog has had one since he was a puppy (3 years).

We do the kong and peanut butter, too. He loves it, and it does keep him quiet for a little bit. I think he needs a bigger one.

Some puzzle toys are insanely expensive! Sweet lord.

I have pretty much all of the treat dispensing balls available... my favorites are tug-a-jugs and canine genius toys. Buster Cubes and rolling treat balls only last a few minutes with my boys.
