Red face Which dryer do I need???

Hello everyone ,

I've recently moved to Canada from the UK and am having problems finding the correct dryer for my needs.

I'm a beginner groomer who really only does my own or friends dogs as although I've done a City and Guilds dog grooming course I believe that I need a lot more experience before calling myself a professional dog groomer.

In the UK I used what we called a "combination dryer" which allowed me to blast off the excess water and then I used the heated element to finish off the coat. The link to the one that I have used is Mutney's Heated Dryer/Blaster II With Stand from Groomers supplies - @ Groomers Supplies | UK professional Dog - Grooming Equipment & Shampoos

Can anyone guide me to which dryer will be of a similar nature for what I'm used to using?? My budget is in the region of approx $400 but as long as I find the dryer that I will last and suits my needs I could increase by another $250 (husband being away when purchasing LOL ).

In my research I've looked at the Metro Top Gun dryer and accessory kit but before buying would like confirmation if this will suit what I am after or if anyone could recommend another make/model.

Any assistance will be a great help

Regards SpringerMac

I am not a groomer, but I bathe my dog myself and am satisfied with Metro Air force commander (click here). It takes water off pretty quickly and I like this tool.

Only problem is that it is very loud noise even with low setting and, first timer to the dryer would freak out with noise and may bite at the hose.

I googled the pet dryer and got this list. One of them look like the tool you used to use.Check and see if it is what you used to use. However, the one you used to use-look like is in 700 dollars range and maybe out of choice?

But if you google you may find cheaper price tag with same products.

I have a nice small grooming salon and I find having both a forced air dryer and a stand up dryer to be very useful. I have the metro air for my forced air and Edemco as my finish dryer, both are at a reasonable price and I love having the option of both.

Both the dryers I've mentioned are not too pricey so could probably get them both to close to 400 dollars combine depending on the type you get. Mine right now aren't too pricey and I've been using them for almost 5 years with no problems.

Good luck with everything!!

Smile and the winner was...

Hi everyone just wanted to update you regarding which dryer I bought. After much research I ended up buying the MetroVac Top Gun Stand Dryer along with the accessory kit (RAK-6) which I have to say I'm really pleased with . Does exactly what I wanted my dryer to do and really powerful

The only down side to buyign my dryer was I was unable to find this model on any of the Canadian grooming sites so ended up placing my order with an American company. Yet literally 1 hour after placing the order I had an email from a Canadian company telling me they could order it direct for me - which would have saved me an awful lot of money as I would have avoided importation tax - but never mind still really pleased with the dryer.
